Helo all , I'm gonna be dropping my XSMN pan soon for fluid and filters change . I'd like to install a drain plug .

Where have you guys sourced them from , how much $$ and are you happy with it ?
Things most important to me is a good sealing non leaking install that is low profile inside and out of the drain pan .

Any other insight you'd like to share on the pan drop / reinstall and filter replacement is welcome ...

Thanks for a response !

I bought a B&M drain plug for my truck but haven't put it in yet. Haven't put it in yet so I can't say how well it works but I've been happy with B&M products over the years.

This may be Rediclous , but if I had a drain for my xsmn pan I'd change the fluid probably @15k intervals and filters every 45 or so ...

I know this sounds crazy but I've had xsmn problems in the past and this may or may not fix that issue but I don't think it would hurt ....?

Changing trans fluid more often is never a bad thing. Unless you have the 8 speed, changing the trans fluid is cheap insurance. I'm looking at changing my fluid and filters when my truck hits 20k. While I have the pan off I want to put my plug in so I can drop the fluid more often

I'll probably just end up buying a deeper pan with a drain plug in it when the times comes. Although they aren't exactly giving them away...

Mag Hytec has one that is $300. It has cooling fins and a drain plug built in but I can't see spending that kind of money on a trans pan. Theres a couple of others out there for around $2-250 but thats all I found. Thats why I ended up going with the plug kit for $10

Yeah I could justify it more if I were changing it every 10k or something. Hell, even 50k.

Well I guess if I needed to spend $300 on something I'd get a cooler looking larger capacity pan with a drain plug , but for now I'll just be getting a drain plug kit for <$10.00 !
Thanks for all the responses !

R.L.K. So did you install the tranny drain plug? How did it go, which did you use?
Any videos you watch for advice?

The filter is also part of the pan on the 8sp,so to do a filter change you're stuck buying a new tranny pan.PPE has stepped up and has a tranny pan that utilizes a replacement filter,so after the first really expensive tranny fluid/filter swap it's not quite as expensive

Question!!! What is the # of the 6 spd trans?
I was looking to purchase a filter set to change it all and could not find a 6 speed for 2012 where I was looking
Will it be the same as the 6 speed for 2013??

The Mopar filters for the RFE transmission are 05179267AC and 5013470AC
