also i ordered dupli colors match to my patriot blue. and was wondering if it would give a good finish

I use a self etching primer from Rustoleum. I love it......not so thin like some others I've used.

The duplicolor stuff isn't bad. Get some clear too, it'll make it pop!

oh, and take some acetone to the bezel before you paint, it'll knock out that chrome.

i really appreciate it jeremy. i plan on workin on this tomorrow. thanks alot for the help. i plan on doin 2 light coats of primer, 3 light coats of color, and probably 2 very light coats of clear to seal it

Here is a blue one I just did........only difference, this is OEM paint, but duplicolor clear:

well i finished one(driver side). my wife had to go to work and took off with my tools in the durango so i couldnt do the passenger side today. i will get to it tomorrow. after 4 1/2 hrs, 2 coats of primer, 4 coats of base color, 2 coats of clear coat this was the finished product. let me know what y'all think

I want to do this to my 07, but i was thinking of using that VHT niteshade stuff, to let a little of the chrome shine through. Any thoughts?

VHT niteshade stuff looks awful on headlights. It ends up looking purplw.
