I just bought my truck at 53k miles and I'm way too excited about it still. But I realized today that I have real no knowledge of actually doing the maintenance of anything mechanical. Obviously there's oil and antifreeze but honestly, I have no idea about anything else.
Do you know of any walk throughs or actual blue prints of what I'm looking at so that I can start tearing into my truck and getting it all tuned up?

Thanks

What year, model, engine, trans, etc. do you have?

Usually the Anti-freeze is 100,00 miles before change depending on the year.

If you are concerned with swapping shocks, they are usually as easy as jacking up the truck, removing the wheel, removing 2 bolts (or nut on top and bolt on lower) to get the shock off and replacing.

Brakes aren't too difficult either if you have calipers and rotors. Maybe 4 bolts (after the wheel is off.)

Some more info on your specific truck and mods you want would help greatly.

Youtube is my favorite place to look. If I need to fix or replace something it gives me an idea of what tools are required. Also helps me seeing it being done rather than trying to just follow text. Check your maintenance schedule for required maintenance intervals and search this forum for help as well!
