This DIY is for making a custom grille and valence.

First you will need a 24x48 sheet of aluminum grille material. Whatever design/color you want. Many use gutter grill material but I don't like that stuff. I went to customcargrills.com - Custom Car & Truck Grills - Billet & Mesh Grill Inserts Bought mines for $120 shipped to the house.

Mesh cut in 2 pieces ; The grille and the valence

Took the grille off

Took the frame bars off

Mock Up of how it will look

Cut to fit, screws installed. Couple of the holes were stripper out, so I bent the mesh under them and wire tied it tight

Reinstalled and finished!

AND FOR THE VALENCE

Took the bumper off, 4 bolts 18mm socket, and it slides right forward and off. NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN EXTRA PERSON, OR A JACK TO REINSTALL THE BUMPER.

Removed the frame plates. 4 bolts on each side. 18mm socket

Installed the valence mesh. Cut, bent it to fit, and tucked it between the bumper frame and the plastic bumper cover.

Top row done, now for the bottom

All finished. Just reinstall the bumper with a friend or a jack.

Hemi badge reinstalled

All Finished!

You might be able to slide the bumper cover off, but the screws/bolts looked hard to get to, and I wanted to install the pieces between the bumper cover and the bumper frame. So that wouldn't have worked for me. It literally took only minutes to removed the bumper. And only 5-8 to reinstall it. Plus I raised it up a lil with the floating bolts, so there isn't much gap between my headlights and the bumper.

The Valence mesh definately wont fit in there unless you remove wither the entire bumper and those plates, or the bumper cover.

Thanks guys! I actually tried taking that black step thing off the top of the bumper. It comes off easy, but there's like 20 square holes underneath it, that look like crap when it's off. Lame. Guess Ill have to wait till I get a different bumper.

Does anyone produce a metal version of the fake (plastic) chrome grill or will I be having to fabricate one at work? I was thinking of making one out of stainless.
