I have been working on replacing my front wheel hubs. However, I cannot get the front axle removed. I know there has to be something simple I am missing. I have been using a slide hammer with an adapter to help pull the axle from the front differential. I can get it only so far and then I won't go any further and I cannot pull the hub.

Does anyone have any tips they can share with me? Thanks in advance for your help and thoughts.

Attaching two pictures of axle and differential.

You should be able to pull the wheel bearing out without removing the axle. Its tight but you can get to the 3 bolts with a swivel socket and an impact. You wont be able to remove the axle without moving the bearing hub.

Also those axle shafts are a PITA to remove cause the rust builds up inside and the c clip is stuck. You need to soak the axle where it meets the stub staft and hammer the backside of the axle while pulling with a pry bar.
