i am pretty sure you would need 3/16" brake line and 3/8"-24 fittings to replace a steel brake line on one of these things.

i think it would depend on what line is leaking. there are a couple fittings that sometimes have to be re-used but i am pretty sure the one he is replacing shouldn't be anything special. usually the special fittings are on the master cylinder and the input on the proportioning valve.

The output on the proportioning valve was a larger size than the hard to soft line to the actual caliper

Well if he does have to re-use fittings all it takes is a 3/16" drill bit and a drill. I have done it many times on the fittingside that are not standard

Are the fittings reusable? Can I get away with just getting a new line? Is there a method to bending the new line or can I get a tool to bend the new line and just have at it

Also, do I put nylon tape or something on the threads of the fittings?

i would personally recommend replacing any fittings that you can and only re-use what you must.

no you don't need any nylon tape. the fitting clamps the line to the other side

Can I bleed just that one line or would that bleed the master cylinder as well?
