Anyone got a 1st gen Durango?

I did appearance and sound and lighting mostly but was an easy truck to play with. I had a 2001.

Immediately a full tune up and fluids ( mostly so that I know they've been done) I ordered a k&n CAI, I'm looking at either a 2 1/2-3 inch cat back single pipe. Debating on porting/polishing the tb or getting a tuner. Trying to make it as efficient as I can. I had a 04 Dakota with intake,tuner and flomaster muffler. I was able to get 19mpg out of it. Hoping to get that out of this.

I put a throttle body spacer on mine along with a cheap ebay air intake. No difference in fuel or power. I will say 5.9 was a running sum *****. Did put a transmission in at 100k only because it quit going into park. Traded in at 197k with the transmission going out again, but then again I'd bounce it off the Rev limiter when going from first to second gear.

In 2008 I bought a 2003 for my daughter to use in college. It had the 5.9 and ran great. After she was done with it I keep it around as a snow car until my youngest daughter hit 18 and gave it to her to use. But as you can see she didn't treat it very nice.

Those Durango's were built like tanks. She sheared off a utility pole, flipped it at least twice and landed on the roof. She crawled out of the broken window of the driver door with just a bruise on her shoulder from the seatbelt.

I tried to find another from that era, but searched and searched and didn't find one in good enough condition to buy.
