Crazy project

So i know this seems crazy but i want to put some 2005 dodge ram wheels on my 1998 dodge ram and the studs are different so i would thinking about putting a steering knuckle and everything else i need such as caliper brakes and hub. What i want to know is if the 2005 steering knuckle fit on my truck meaning 1998 ball joints will fit and also the tie rods. is this to far fetched or do you guys this i could pull this off? oh and for the studs in the back i would install the 2005 studs and they should work.

Why would you do that when the bolt pattern is the same? I've seen plenty of 2nd gens with 3rd and even 4th gen rims.

My guess is very little chance 3rd gen stuff would swap that easy. But as hemilonestar stated the 2nd gen should be the same bolt pattern, I have seen many 2nd gens with 3 and even 4th gen wheels.

I would think the the aluminum flower style wheels would need the bigger lugs nuts to be held to the truck? for like a 2005 dodge ram

You just need to ensure the lug nuts are a proper fit at the base. If they are rounded (ball) or flat(tapered) it will make a difference, and the depth of said fastener, but you can buy the proper fitting ones anywhere. I stole my Dads rims from his 04 and put em on my 98 back in the day. They worked fine.
