The intake manifold, dipstick tube, timing cover, and accessories are different but the block is the exact same. Swap the manifold, dipstick tube, timing cover, and accessories from the magnum over onto the truck block and you're on your way.

Isn't the magnums MDS and the 05 ram non mds could that cause any issues?

All the hemi blocks came with the capabilities for MDS but for the truck the MDS came in '06 and all the LX R/Ts had MDS. Swap lifters and solenoids if you want to keep it but now would be a good time to just program it out with a tuner and never worry about it again.

Good info, wasent sure how it would swap over from non mds to mds. I agree just program it for no mds is the easy solution and sounds much better if you like loud exhaust won't sound like a Subaru under water.

depends on the year magnum...the 05 motor will not have mds like the 06 hemis do..but if you don't mind it then all you have to do is swap timing covers, intake manifold, oil pan and a few other thing...you pretty much just need the stripped long block and put the car stuff on it...

The 05 truck engine won't have MDS in it, but the Magnum WILL have it in the PCM (all LX 5.7's have it) and will throw an error if not disabled beforehand.
