Helo all , I've seen many post on the forum about : I have a xx gal tank but I run it to the fuel low light and I can only put in xx galons ?
Well , I decided to test the accuracy of my ( miles remaining ) counter .
My low light first illuminated with 59 miles remaining in tank . I continued to drive Untill it was at a Range of 20 miles then filled it up .
I feel like it was pretty accurate .
I have a 26 gal tank .
Trip A was this tank of gas , odd how the math doesn't add up ? If you do the math , total miles divided by the avg mpg , this would've taken 28 gals ? Wierd....maybe I filled up all the way nursing it in to the filler port last time I gassed up ? Not sure . I typically get over 500 miles on a tank , but I've never ran it down this far before.
I've never reset this avg mpg page for the life of the truck , and I don't plan on ever resetting it .
This is pretty accurate for me having a 26 gal tank , pretty happy with this little experiment .
