I will be but I can't post for sale ads yet so I'm trying to gauge interest and see what the value is.

I'm up to date on diesel g56 but not hemi stuff

I don't think a getrag or g56 will work behind a hemi.... two totally different worlds. If it was a tremec them maybe but that's a t-56.

The getrag is one huge trans and the gearing is probably way off for the hemi also

It has the same shift pattern as a g56 in a diesel so I assumed it was a g56. It still in the truck now.

So you're saying it's a t56?

First manual hemi truck I've I usually mess with diesels.

Thanks

It's the G56. They offered them for only a year or two, behind the Hemi in the 2500. There was actually a ram 2500 (with powerwagon badges) just for sale at my local dealer. I ran the VIN on Ram's website, and per the factory sheet, it said it had the 6 spd G56 in it. It is mildly rare to find one, and they're geared (as far as I know), similar to the Cummins. I would love to have one, but can't afford to do the swap, nor do I have the know-how.

However, someone with speed in mind would be better off with the TR6060 (IIRC), which is the one out of the Challengers. There's a company that makes a custom bell housings to make all the magic happen so it fits in the Rams, or so I've heard.

Thanks for the input. This from my research isn't a "common" truck offered with a g56 manual 6 speed with a hemi.

I was hoping there would be more interest in people wanting to do a manual conversion.

I read one guy did the swap for pulling his camper and he was extremely pleased with the results and said it pulled like a new truck due to the gearing vs the Auto he had.

So I'm mainly checking interest to see if many hemi ram owners actually want a manual transmission in their truck vs the Auto.

I'm a diesel guy. If this would work with the cummins it would have been sold BUT since I'm not much on the gas side of trucks I wasn't sure what if it would be quick to move or if I'd have to sit on it for a while.

That would be an interesting swap (I've got a NV4500 in my truck), but I don't think it'd be worth the trouble in my case. Somebody with an automatic or a 1/2 ton manual truck would probably be the best candidates.

I really want this in a bad way but I don't have enough cash at the moment. Seller has all the parts and is asking a good price. I'm not going to say what it is because every negotiation is different ;) If he still has it in June it will hopefully be going in my '11 2500 later this summer. I guess if I miss out that will teach me not to impulse buy firearms.......:roflsquared:

Yeah, gets me every time. I wasn't exactly planning on actually finding the unicorn of used truck parts this soon Lmao I've been looking ever since I sold my '06 with hemi/g56 back in July and this is the first hemi version g56 I've found. Ctd version has larger input shaft.
