well...as the title says, I have been watching a few videos on youtube and id love to get into this hobby and maybe later get into auto painting as well..

I feel like I will have a long future of modding as long as I am able, and this would prob be a great hobby to have as a modder!

I also enjoy mastering new things, and I think this will be a cool/fun hobby.

does any one have tips at all?

have a brand or specific set up you like? please share! lol

excited to get started

Ohhhh ya. First off I would pick up a paasche VL set which will have three different tips and needles. Second do you have a compressor with an air tank? Good brand would be a sears craftsman. I've had mine since 1992 and still going strong.

I usually buy my ab and supplies from
Dixie Art & Airbrush Supplies Home Page: Airbrush and Art Supplies
they usually have great prices.

Just to show you some of my work with the airbrush-

5 gallon is fine for now. I went to go look and looks like its a 12 gallon 1.5 hp single cylinder/oilfree.

also I like to use posterboard to cut out my own stencils but I make sure and tape it up with some clear thick scotch tape then cut out the patter with an exacto knife.

Let me ask you a question- can you draw and what type of designs are you looking to learn?

I havnt drawn in a long time, but I felt like I was pretty talented for being young. I was really good at free hand drawing something that I was looking at

as far as transferring something from my head to paper, I struggled but never tried really hard.

as for designs, the only thing im really shooting for at this point, im wanting to learn how to do some flame work, and working my way to doing some of it on my air intake, as a first "big" project.

pick up ether the magazine or digital version of new or older versions of airbrush action magazines- you will learn allot from these.

Maybe take some basic art classes to sharpen up your drawing skills.
If you have any more questions just ask?
