Default Warranty question

My wife and I are pretty young, and have only bought one brand new car, her 2009 Ford focus. I am looking into buying a new SLT 1500 towards the end of the year. A question arose in determining to buy new.

If there have been reoccurring issues while under warranty (like having to replace her sway bars several times), when the car goes out of warranty am I screwed on the mater, out will they fix it as if it's still under warranty?

Thanks guys. And by far RF odds the best source for ram questions, keep it up!

Buy new and you will have 36000 warranty that covers basically all. I would get extended warranty as it will pay off if anything goes. The powertrain warranties have never impressed me as they cover the stuff that usually at least in my experience don't break as much. They always seem to not be covered under powertrain but with bumper to bumper it is nice knowing you will have deductible but no crazy large bills.

I had never bought warranty until my Ram and so far glad I did as I did torque converter and pump and that would have cost about what I have into extended warranty.

I would recommend the 5 year/100,000 mile warranty so you won't hopefully have to deal with out of warranty repairs. It's a $1515 upgrade(at cost). But to respond to your question, it depends on dealer; some will charge you like you have a warranty if it's a month or two after warranty but others will say no warranty, full cost

According to numerous publicatons it is not recommended to purchase extended warranties.

I normally would not purchase one on a new vehicle due to the factory warranty, and I normally trade vehicles in before they are out of their warranty periods.

If you can't afford a repair bill it may be wise to purchase and extended warranty since you can spread the cost out over your financed period.
However there are still deductibles involved on repairs, the smaller your deductible the higher the price for the warranty. Only certain items are covered under each plan.

As far as the sway bars go I think your probably gonna be out of luck once the warranty period ends.

like said above, it depends on the dealer if the will cover it if it is just past the warranty period.
