I picked up a new Flashpaq 3842 and in my haste to see what difference it could make on my 01 Ram 1500, I plugged it in and did the 87 tune on the truck. A couple of days later I decided to try the 'Towing' tune, however when I hooked up the tuner it acted like it wasn't 'married' to the truck, and gave me the dreaded E-43 message, that there was a non stock tune. I called SC and was told to update the tuner, as that problem had been addressed. I updated and still no joy, so I called again with my case number and this time I got someone who really understood the issue. They set up an 'update' to get the data off the tuner, and told me that they would write a program to force the truck back to stock, after I updated with that I could then use the tuner to retune to anything I wanted. They said they would call when the new program was ready to download, it could be a few days, up to a week, this was yesterday. Imagine my shock this morning when my phone rang right after 7AM and it was Sam from SC telling me my program was ready for updating. I did the update and it worked like a charm, I got the truck retuned to towing with no muss fuss or bother. Every time I called SC the phone was answered almost immediately and the people seemed concerned to help me, even the first tech who I think didn't really understand the problem. Even though it was my fault (lesson learned, make sure you follow those directions to UPDATE THE TUNER BEFORE USING IT!) they were nothing less than totally great. In this day and age it's normal to get lousy customer service, but I have to say this was right up there with the best I've ever gotten on the phone from a company. Thanks SC!

Happened to me in January. Ron had it fixed in a few days. I think he said it was a bad firmware release
