Being Canadian I don't get the love affair with assault rifles or why anyone would need one. How many bullets does it take to bring down a deer or bear? LOL.

We have wild black and grizzly bears along with cougars and most people here just have shotguns and 3 shot hunting rifles.

Hunting bears with a bow is popular here. If you miss you better be quick at reloading or running.

^ agreed.. It's not.

Nice answer: as far as hunting goes.. Its a hell of a lot of fun trying to knock down a running coyote. Will usually need more than 3 rounds for that

Other than the fact of it being a constitutional right, building these rifles is also a hobby.

Ive never owned one (AR type), mostly because I've fired over hundereds of thousands of rounds, and its an expensive hobby to add to the list.. Also just took the fun out of it for me.

But it is a hobby for most people. The thing about hobbies is, it's easy to say "you don't need that" .. When it's not your thing. Some people collect stamps, make quilts, or even mod trucks with unnecessary shit.. That's their thing.

But again, hobby or needed, isn't up for questioning when it's a right. They're being infringed upon. A long with this lbgt everything, and now transgenders in the military.... Shits getting stupid out here.

Stop using the term "assault rifle" when they are not - it is a made up term by the media and liberals to demonize what is essentially a semi-auto (1 squeeze of the trigger nets one round fired) with black plastic instead of wooden body.

Some people buy them for hunting, some buy them for home defense and others get into competition sport shooting (3 Gun Nation challenges are getting extremely popular).

I am born and raised in California. Grew up Hunting and shooting guns and its part of my life and how my children will be raised. But after being in the military and seeing how other states are with their rules and laws are i can say that i will never reside in california again while these laws are in effect.

Hello some other state!!!!

I couldn't have said it better. The liberal agenda will destroy this country.

Wait till you guys/gals in Commieforina get the new "mileage tax" they are thinking of proposing. Seen it on the news last night.
Connecticut, PA, Oregon, and another state have been thinking of doing it as well. More taxes, just what the American people need!
