2012 F150 HID's

Jeremy, the guy I fish with every weekend just bought a 2012 F150 Platinum, and he is wanting to add HID's. I know you aren't a Ford guy, but any chance you know if he needs a specific kit with harness, or if it is just as simple as plugging in the new ballasts and bulbs? I tried to talk him into a projector retrofit, but he is cheap...haha.

wait..a '12 "Platinum" and he's cheap? Dude.

They take a setup close to the 06-08 Rams, without the resistors.

He's cheap, but he got suckered in by the dealership salesman...haha. He paid almost $40k for that truck. I would be installing these for him, so I will be the one placing the order. Let me make sure he is ready to buy, and I will put the order through.

Back on topic...I ordered these from JJ on Monday afternoon, and they were at the house this morning by 10am. That's tough to beat. Also, these new kits are amazing. Every plug on the wiring harness is labeled so that even a 5 year old could install a set of HID's. I should have these installed for my friend 1 day this weekend, and will post some pics of the finished results. Thanks again Jeremy.

I know I am breaking the #1 rule of this forum, but we got the lights installed last night. Didn't finish until late, and it was raining, so no pics. I have to admit, the Ford has a lot more room to mount the ballasts/wiring, and their headlights popped out much easier than my truck. It only took us 30 minutes from start to finish.

The 5000K temp is perfect, the ballasts warm up very fast compared to some other kits I have used in the past, and the wiring harness is fool proof. Thanks again Jeremy.

I installed a set of HIDs my friend sources from Amazon (against my recommendation) on her 04 F150. There was enough room on the back of the headlight housing itself to install the ballast there. It was quick and easy.

I spent more time cleaning than wiring, installed etc. Makes sense that Fords are easy to work on... [/StereotypicalForumBashing]
