The part# in the LED swap write up is 68093080AB and 68093081AB. My lights are the same number but end in AC instead of AB. I wonder if they made a change in 2014 because mine are a 4 pin connector whereas the write up and your pigtail are both 6 pin. I'm hoping it will fit the same just without using the 2 middle pins. My parts guy is at lunch right now, so I'm going to call him back in an hour. When I asked him for a pigtail, I gave him the part# for my tails, so maybe that is why it did not show up as having anything available.

I believe that write up was originally posted Feb.2013,
long before the 2014's were out, so you're probably correct

the pigtail kit at my dealer comes with an empty connector and lots of loose wires,
you have to insert the correct number of pins yourself based on what your requirements are

6 slots, 12 wires but not all of them get used its a universal pigtail from what I gathered

Since the foglights don't have projectors, has anyone tried blacking them out with tint and running HIDs? That would look pretty cool to me on a extreme murdered vehicle, almost like you don't have fogs installed until you turn them on.

Not to sure at what point HIDs are not bright enough to pierce the tint enough to still make them functional, yet black at the same time.

Ideas?

JJ is doing 13+ TYC fogs for me right now.

2009+ Dodge Ram HID Projector Retrofitted Fog Lights [Fog Paint:Gloss black][Harness Type:Canbus Adapters][Shrouds:Mini Gatling][35W/50W?:35W][Kelvin:5000K][Halos:No Halos]

The site just doesn't have the 13+ TYC fogs listed yet. I'm sure you can get those tinted to your liking.

I want the LED tails but I think I'll just wait till he's able to work them out.

I have a new appreciation for what it takes to put a PnP adapter harness together now.
You really have to buy all the pieces in bulk to get any kind of a discount.

Just for a pair of little plastic plug connectors my local stealer wants more
than Jeremy charges for the entire Projector Adapter for the 13+ Heads.

I just couldn't pass up the price on those OEM LED tails,
but may wait until there's a PnP adapter from the retroshop to install them.

I spoke to my parts guy this evening, and the pigtail part# you posted is correct for the '14 model as well. He has 3 in stock, so I'm going to grab 2 of them tomorrow. May try to throw something together next week to get mine installed and running.

I'm a bit confused now that I've had a good look at my lights

My lights have the 4 pins too, and they are symmetrical.
the pic's of the 5013985AA connectors I've seen are staggered

I'm pretty sure that pigtail is only for the 13's Matt, you were right
there has to be a different part# for the 14' lights.

Brad and I knocked down most of the sharp ridges around the perimeter,
around the reverse lens and the three O's (top middle and bottom)
Wet sanding with 3000 grit, then power fine cut polish.

Just like new again, better than stock and no more scuffs!

Watered down the floor to keep the dust down,
1st layer light coat of VHT

second layer of tint

Decided that was dark enough for me,

Three coats of clear (SprayMax 2K the good stuff)

2K clear coat: Spraymax

They could probably use one more layer of clear yet
Will cure for at least a week before wet sanding again, then fine cut power polish.

That's odd, I went to RockAuto to see if I could round up pigtails/connectors
(no luck so I'll try the dealers or the local pick your part)

But while I was into the RA catalogue I did notice they had TYC LED tails
but the part number listed the same both 13' and 14' model years.

As mentioned in the other thread, now that I've had one in my hands......I think you are missing some parts to your tails guys....

See if he can send you a pic of the back of the tails. I also have a new set of 2014 OEM LED Sport tails here, but the connector plug on the back is different than the 2013 model LED tails.

Jeremy, have you had a chance to compare your tails to the pics I sent you of mine? Still curious if 1 adapter will work or if you have to produce 2 different adapters for the different year tails.

yup....see above. :(

Would it be a safe guess that the LED tails would require the same load resistor as the head signals? 6 ohm?

morimoto_resistor_pigtails-5447_2.jpg

Morimoto HD Load Resistors - Accessories

Yup, even my truck needed 'em (which is weird....) - mine has never needed 'em. But we will include them with every order on these, same setup as the headlight adapters - we'll have a pigtail to plug them in at.

If I cant get those pigtails cheap at the wreckers yard,
I may just have to sell mine and buy some TYC's

Just a quick update,

A spare pair of OEM LED tail light harnesses, c/w reverse socket/bulb,
is on the way thanks to shaftman_05!!

pigtails_zps25875b60.jpg

and very soon I'll have a pair of adapters from JJ ,
along with my Fog HID's that I should have ordered the first time

2014-10-28080545_zpsdaa13dd5.jpg

...AND my new Projector heads just got Baked open for surgery yesterday!!!!
Ready for paint/tint like before, But with FX-R's this time!!!
mmmmmm I love the smell of baked headlights in the morning

After I saw the Demon Eye video on the RetroShops Instagram
I sent JJ some more $$ for Amber Demon Eyes to run with my LED park lights.

amberdemon_zps249e0393.jpg

I was on the fence about the Halo's when the RGB's first came out, but thought the white LED's
on my all black heads would look odd when the lights were off.

using pigeonmans' pic as example:

on, cool as Hell

when off , too much white for me
pigeonmanoff_zps689ffcb0.png

The Demon Eye mod puts an LED right inside the projector itself,
so it's not visible when turned off, and will turn off when the projector low beam HID is on.

Those Demons should look sick! Can't wait to see the finished product. I'm already going to have to redo mine in the spring. The halos are half burnt out on one side....

I tried the led halo a few years back on my quad but experienced the same issue of LEDs burning out
Also could always tint the halos so they don't look out of place when shut off.

The body of the headlight forms a "U" shaped channel that the lens sits in. You'll have to pry the outside lip back carefully while its fresh out of the oven and still hot. I used screw drivers and chisels. Once the lip is back far enough the bond between the back side of the channel and the lens has to be broken by getting one of your tools in there.

Be patient. It's gonna take a while..... And it's a balancing act between not enough force and too much. Don't be temped to use a sharp knife it'll cut through warm housings plastic too easy.

YouTube of baking open Ram projector heads here:

How To Install Ram 1500 Angel Eye Halos - YouTube

only comment on that vid is the using glue to hold the Halo in place
would be better done with wire as shown in this vid from RetroFit Source

TRS Tips: How to Install Angel Eyes or Halos (xbALed, XB LED, SMD, CCFL) - YouTube

Personally, I don't feel comfortable gambling on a DIY with an $800 set of heads
I'll gladly pay a little extra to have them done by a pro.

if it was a cheap set of quads you can get for $100 on ebay it would be different.
