I was wondering how these compare to the Sylvania ultra star bulbs. I have them in my Silverado and know they are very bright and clear.

Doc, where in NJ are you? Thinking of ordering this kit, would love to see how it looks on yours beforehand.

I'm in central NJ...Old Bridge

And all I ha e to do is drill my stock lights and insert these. Sweet. When my 14 comes in I will most likely be doing this asap. On the hi beams, what's the brightest setup you recommend for extended use. When I am out going off road at night. I like to light things up.

Do I need to connect both resistors? The ones that came with the HID's and the ones that came with the wire harness converter for the projector lights?

HID kit ones yes.

The ones for the adapters, depends - if you have hyperflashing, use 'em. If not, no need ;)

well, there is a harness to run, but nothing crazy there.

The kelvin thing. What's that all about. I understand the watts. Like on my Yamaha roadstar 1700 the stock bulbs were 50 watt /60 watt. And I replaced them with a kyrakan bulb that's 90 watt/100 watt. It really lights up the night. But I have never dealt with this kelvin.

4300 - tinge of yellow
5000 - pure white
6000 - tinge of blue

higher you go, the less output. not that huge between 4300-5, 6 is noticeable - but still WAY brighter than stock.

OK. Thanks so much. I already have some things waiting at the dealership to be installed. Looks like I will be doing this when I get it. Along with finding a heavy duty brush guard.

Spent an hour and a half racing to get these done before the rain rolled through and I'll be damned if I didn't mess something up. This is probably my 10th set of HIDs, not sure what I did wrong. Oh well, guess I'll have to tear everything back up in the AM. I'm guessing I have a backwards connector somewhere.

My only gripe about this kit is that EVERYTHING was a tight fit. Thankfully I pulled the 'extensions' out of the housings before I sealed them back up - they came in VERY helpful in the end.

Well, at first not working at all then working sometimes.

Then it got real interesting... the lights will only come on if I manually turn the light switch (I typically leave it on auto) to on BEFORE I start the truck. The lights will not turn on in other way.

Very frustrating.

Also one bulb seems brighter than the other and the driver side throws a code even with the resistor installed.

flip the capacitor, where it plugs to the splitter. see attachment. ;)

for brightness, sometimes I see this on the '13s, as the return wires on the bulbs are in different locations. Not a huge thing....just a weird way that the truck has the bulbs cocked.

OK, I'll tackle it tomorrow. I've pulled the lights and grille off more times than I'm willing to admit today

What's the trick to getting to the fog lights? Pull the wheel well plastic off? I assume they don't need the resistors?

I havent been under a '13......but, shoudln't need to pull the plastic.

No resistors on the fogs, but the '13+ may need a capacitor.

Got it all figured out... *someone* shipped the kit with the driver side capacitor plugged in backwards :buttkick:

FWIW the (sport) fog lights could not have been easier, climb under the rig and there they are. Hardest part was zip tying the wires up out of the way.
