Don't be afraid to bake it, open it a touch, and bake it again.
Like 400 times. Holy crap it takes forever on the first one!

I baked them apart on Friday night and started Saturday morning. I was done putting the projectors in at about 2, but I had to wait until dark so I could make sure my cut offs were straight before coming back to the house and hitting them with 2-part epoxy. After an hour of dry time on the epoxy, I tighten the nut on the back of the projectors and sealed them back up that night. I had everything installed and running before lunch on sunday.

I guess if I would have had a garage or a place to adjust my cut offs then I would haven been done by Saturday night.

I am starting the install now. I have the housings in the oven right now. Hopefully this part goes smoothly, I constantly check them to make sure they are not melting.

I've.............never melted a set of lights.

Hundreds, dare I say even a thousand have been through my oven. The key is obviously temp and time. I've read some people say 350 degrees.........what? you cooking a chicken too? ;)

250 degrees. Hell, I left a light in the oven once for about.....30-40 minutes once (forgot to set my timer.....derr) - came out fine.

Tip - I use a silicone mat. That on a cookie sheet has served me very well over the years, in fact.......I'm using the same exact cookie sheet and silicone mat that I started with. It has one blemish on it......those pesky 2013's have some weird glue in them......some spooged out.......and its a ***** to remove!

I had them in there for about 18 minutes and have broken the seal around 3/4 of the housing. They are going back in for another round of heat.

Glad to hear your retro has started, keep us updated. The only part I hated was removing the glue from the housing after I got the clear cover off. PITA!

That glue is a PITA for sure. I've noticed that if I heat up the housing and then let it cool for a couple of minutes, the glue becomes hard enough and pliable enough to pull it out in big strips. It's just time consuming. I have about 3/4 of the glue out of the first housing.
