I was talking to a drag enthusiast....(he owns a pro stock).I asked him about our RAM 's
He said losing about 800 pounds, and with the right tires and conditions a stock Quad can get close to a 0-60 in 5 seconds and a 12 second quarter........just throwing it out there....

So basically he is saying to gut the truck's interior (everything but the driver's seat), remove the bed and as much dirt as you can from the frame and then you will get better numbers...

Hmmm who would have thought...

I did a 7 sec 0-60 and a 14 quarter...with stock tires on a public street. Now I have the three mods, superchip, cai and exhaust opened....also fully laden weight at 5800 lbs.....with the right TRACK conditions and suitable tires, and lightened up.......yeah, I think a stock RAM could easily blow my doors in.:favorites13:

So my 0-60 is like 11 seconds. I have the 05 ram 1500 4x4 with just over 100k miles on it. Its moatly stock with the exception of an air intake. But is there anything I can do to improve it that isn't bank breaking?

There's lots of stuff you can do, just look in the engine and Performance section for ideas. Two things you need to remember: once you start there ain't no place to stop, and relativity speaking, none of it is very cheap---some more expensive than others, and some way more expensive than others.

When you open this big can of worms, you take the lid all the way off.

That said, the thing you can do that will you the most noticable improvement by far is change the gears in your rear(s). You want launch improvement, a set of 4.56:1 or 4.88:1 gears WILL do that. It's a torque multiplying thing.

Doesn't seem like this part gets much action anymore. Did anyone ever make a list of the fast 10 or 20 times? I made it through the first couple pages of posts but didn't make it all the way through.
