Show off your 6" and 8" lifted 1500s, preferably with 2"-3" body lifts. List the wheel and tire specs too. Trying to get an idea of what my truck would look like before I pull the trigger.

Blackbeauty how much was your lift? Where'd you get it? Are you 4x4?

I'm not having an easy time finding a 6" lift for around 1000. Can't swallow spending 2k+ on a fabtech or skyjacker when the install at my local truck place is 1000

Ordered it straight from rough country. I think it was $1100. Mines 4x4 but 06 and up have a different front suspension than yours. That's why the sizes are different from mine to yours.

So your 06 has a 6" 4x4 kit available? It only shows a 5" for mine. 3 inch rear and 5 inch front

After hours and hours of research, I have pretty much come to the conclusion that getting a 1000, 2000+ dollar lift for a 1500 is pretty pointless because of the independent front suspension.

The 2500 and 3500 would actually get an upgraded coilover, which would help you in an off road situation. The Independent front suspension pretty well screws us 1500 owners, and makes our lifts cosmetic and very unsuited for legit offroading.

The only thing that lifts our trucks with these seemingly fancy kits are extended knuckles in the front and blocks that go in between the leafs in the rear.

That's a BS ripoff. If your truck is a 2wd, you put 3" spring spacers in the front, 2" blocks in the rear leafs, get a 3" body lift, and call it a day. If you have a 4x4, get 2" blocks in the rear leafs, crank the keys in the front to even it up with the rear, get a 3" body lift, and you're good.

If your only goal is better cosmetics, this is the way to go. Because even the "suspension lift" is only cosmetic really.

Both of these methods appear the exact same as a 6" suspension lift on other trucks. You can easily fit a 35" tire if not a 37".

This method of spacing/cranking the front and blocking the rear, and the body lift, all costs less than 800 bucks parts and labor installed at a shop. That's a lot different than the 1250 for the cheapest kit like rough country and 2000 for the intermediate kits like bds, skyjacker and procomp, then the 1000 dollars at a qualified shop to install it.

It's actually pretty ridiculous. I can understand if money isn't an issue, then yea get the rc/bds lift and the body lift as well and get even higher. But for the money, it's hard to argue with the alternate method for less than 800 installed.

Hemi I like the concept of that. However, I've heard that your cranking your key basically tops out the shock even just trying to level the front from a stock height. Also how much would this **** up your CV axles?

Hemipig, thanks for spelling that out. I am one looking for lift, but no real off roading plans. In addition to the longer knuckles, my front diff needs to be lowered because my shaft angles are I steep as I want them.

I'm running a 7" 2wd lift on my truck. I thought about a body lift on top of it but I don't want to see the spacer in the front because the bumper wouldn't hide it.

Put a 52" curved bar there it's just another spot for a light

This may be stupid question but what about brake hoses with that lift? I've only lifted one truck (not dodge) and with a 3" or so front lift I had to order longer hoses.

The newer style with the big headlights require lifted hoses and the first style doesn't until about 4in lift

Does an '06 fall into the "bigger headlight" category? I'm not familiar with dodge at all.

Bummer. Not to hijack the thread, but I wouldn't be able to do just a 2" lift and get away for now?

6in super lift and 2" body on 37's
Side note I'm looking for heavy duty aftermarket control arms and hub assemblies. The stock ones won't handle the lift and keep going out
