So hey guys! I sold my 4th gen truck to cut my debt in half and found a cherry one owner 2005 truck about 6 hours away. I bought it! 84,000 miles, clean as a whistle. It's got a 2" lowering shackle in the rear. 3.92 gears anti spin from the factory!!

I've read mixed reviews about lowering. I want to do the 2/4 but having to change the shocks, exhaust and all that I don't know. I only have money for one or the other. I'm concerned about ride quality. Too me it already rides hard in the rear just with the two inch, cant imagine the 4".

Think I want to run the 22 x 9 SRT machined face, black pockets with a 305/45/22 (close to stock tire) or a 305/40/22. I can get them for 1590 shipped with lionhearts(ehhh). I posted some pics to show how clean my ride is but I want some opinions. I just put stock size tires on it (new) that came with truck which won't work with 2/4. So will the srt rims look okay with 305/45/22 until I maybe lower it one day? Also if I lower it will 305/45/22 work on 2/4?

I think it'll look a bit goofy honestly with that style wheel. But if you're gonna eventually drop it then why not. I went with a 3/5 drop and had 20s with 245/45s. 275/45 is what I'll eventually get. But I'm sure it will look just fine. Nice truck. It's super clean. Love that blue, always has been my favorite of all of the colors.

Oh and id ditch the step boards lol

Oh yeah no doubt. The guy was very meticulous and only kept them so he didn't drag his butt in and out the seat messing up the seat. Thanks man!!!

You can fit a stock tire on a 2/4 drop. I had some 20s with the 275/60s whe I was 2/4 with no issues

I've read both

See I've read both sides some saying it messes up inner fender wells. Did you replace shocks? And what about exhaust? What kit did you go with

Yea I replaced to belltech shocks because I planned to go lower, when I first lowered it I had a full stock exhaust minus a flowmaster muffler an it would hit where it went over the axle so I cut it off. There's enough room to have it ran closer to bed so you won't have the problem. If you do lower it, expect to have the occasional inner fender rub up front

Again, stock tires on 2/4 drop is not a problem.

No need for a new exhaust either, worst case scenario: Cut the tailpipe off and run a turndown right on the muffler.

Wheel wells are just plastic and cheap. The entire tops of mine are cut out for more clearance for my 5.5/8 drop.

Ride quality with 2/4 would be near stock. Mine at 4/6 actually felt a bit softer in the rear than stock.

Very smart decision and nice truck, at 31 you should invest the difference in your 401 or IRA or a ROTH. I paid cash for mine a few years back. I have a 2003 with 22", I went with the McGaughys 2.5x4 drop spindles up front and flip kit in back and sport shocks all the way around. She never bottoms out and handles like a sports car on rails now, the ride is stiffer, but you can't have it both ways.

Thanks guys for all the input. I think for now I'm deff going with the SRT10 22's with 305/45/22. Looking at go ahead and going with the Nitto's because I really won't be driving the truck a whole lot as I have a work vehicle I drive 5 days a week. Then I'll put the lowering on after the first of the year. Gonna lose the step bars as well when I get the rims.

I actually like the step bars not for looks, but it does keep you from sliding in and out of the seat. I would like to keep it cherry. But If I lower it enough I won't need them anyway lol. So I may go with the black iboards for now. Wired up my powered sub enclosure yesterday and installed Memphis speakers in the rear while I was at it.

Got the black headlights (factory look with black housing) to install tonight. Then it's Panther's Football and tomorrow I'll install the 6 x 9 memphis. I appreciate all the insight. Stay tuned. Oh and she opened right up with the 93 Octane Diablo tune. Next will be hemifever.

Got the rims on...lowering may come next..

Let me know what yall think. I went with the 22x9 Machined SRT Replicas with Black Pockets. Wrapped in 305/45/22 Falken S-TZ05. Again this truck is only lowered two inches in the rear but wanted yall's opinon. OH AND I KNOW the bars are coming off today. Just had this done while it was at work.
