I picked up this beauty off of eBay for a really good price. I knew it had a small crack in it but I was hoping it wasn't that noticeable. Unfortunately it's pretty noticeable. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix it or conceal it a bit? the seller claimed it was brand new just a little bruise but I'm not sure I want to put it in my truck the way it is now. Thanks!!

Also off topic question. Is that part of the steering wheel heated?

You're right. It's not fixable and you definitely don't want it in your truck. I'll take it and dispose of it properly for you. [emoji16]

Is that a crack or a scratch? It looks like it might be a scratch in the finish. That's going to determine what you can do with it.

It's towards the front side of the steering wheel right over the curve that is why you can't see it from the front.

I don't know, if it's just a scratch and not a crack I would see if I could just make it less noticeable

It's actually a crack. There is a small indentation at the same location. I bet it was dropped. I'm actually not sure I really like the feel of the top section...

If it's cracked, your only real option is probably to fill it and then smooth it out. I've repaired wood steering wheels in the past but most have just required sanding out the scratches. CA (super glue) works well for filling in deep scratches, so you might be able to use that.

Good question. I assume it is. I wonder how well the heat transfers, though. My mom's car has a heated wheel but the top is wood and it really doesn't get warm at all. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a heated wheel.

CA looks promising. I'm going to give it a try and see what happens.

Yes the wood part heats up sometimes to hot. I'm a hold the top of the wheel driver and sometimes even without the heat part on my hand gets sweaty. They are nice to look at though driving down the road.

Try Bondic it actually works really well. Its not a glue but similar to filling cracks in your teeth at the dentist with UV light.

Use GEL superglue so it doesn't run and drip all over the wheel.
