You laugh...it happens more than you think. I know the big three buy(or lease) every other manufacturer's cars and tear them apart and test them. They get put back together and sold. You may think those low mileage cars on the used car lot were owned by a little old ladies...think again.

I spoke to the owner yesterday and he said he was able to get it figured out and will be sending me the sensor, wiring and genie to install it.

I'll report once I have it and get it installed. I'm local, so I should get it all and get it installed by the middle of the week.

Any updates? I was forced to rent a mini van for my vacation instead of taking my 2017 vehicle in for some issues to the dealer because this drug out like it has. ( try explaining this to your wife) If I would have know it was still being "tested" I would have never went this direction. It has been two weeks almost with no real word. I would like to get this buttoned up when i get back over the weekend so I can get the truck in to get repaired.
Anyone heard anything positive?

I can confirm we did in fact get it working properly.

We have an installation video that will be updated to the OBD Genie YouTube page once it's done being edited which should be soon (I'll edit this post with the video once it's uploaded), then we will reach back out to everyone who is having this issue individually.

I love that they believe they fixed the issue.

I am however a little disturbed that they chose to send a return shipping label. Wanting the four genies back to reprogram BEFORE they send out a working unit. It leaves me with more of bad feeling that I had to rent a van to go on vacation rather than my new vehicle.

So original order was a month ago. Now I have to wait two more days until I get back, send them back, two more days, wait for programming, who know how long, and wait two more days for shipping back. Hope it works!!! The earliest I can get my truck in for warranty work is about two weeks from today. Where is the customer service? Hope they make this right per earlier e-mail.

I don't believe sending the units back is the issue at all. I believe the issue is the time involved with doing so and the waiting for the replacements. By the time this is hopefully resolved it will be close to two months that this has been going on. Now add that to the additional time of running to the post office, install, uninstall and just the hassle in general that's were the frustration comes from. All for a item that was sold as easy to install, reliable and a alternative to the other tool. Not only that it was touted as tested.

Just my opinion, but I work in a field where client satisfaction can make or break you, so it seems to me your cost should be the last thing you should be worried about. You sent out untested products to customers that thought they were getting a fully tested product that would have no issues. Whether you have a limited supply of genies or not, your top priority should be providing a fix as quickly as possible, irregardless of cost.

I should have been more informative on the reason I stated 'cost effective'. In reality I should have mentioned it was more 'time efficient' as we are in fact in limited supply of the genies and it makes more sense for us to pay for return shipping and send them back to you folks instead of waiting for additional genies to show up. I've been told a lot of you have 3+ genies as we attempted to fix the issue once already. We are reprogramming the ones you folks are sending back to read the data on the current chip to ensure it's corrected properly. I apologize. Cost is not an issue, time is. It's as much of an issue it is for us as it is for you. Surely you can understand we are trying to correct the issue as quickly as possible. It just makes more sense to return the ones you have at this time.

Yes, about 15mins from them, but I was told by the owner it would be shipped out Monday or Tuesday, and then I text him yesterday and he said today, but nothing yet.

He sent me the link to the YouTube video, but that's been it.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a genie shortly after alex@infotainment said they were up and working. That was Thursday and I haven't received any shipment notification...
