I am looking at a 1999 Dodge Ram,it's a 4x4.It's in good shape for the mileage it has.It has 150,000 miles on it,runs good and taken care of very well.So far I am impressed with and will be my winter beater at times.Has new tires, brake lines, ball joints. It includes the transmission rebuilt and the seller shown me the receipts.Reason why the transmission was rebuilt because his 17 year old son ignored a front pump seal leak and burned it up including a transmission line rusted out.I did test drive it,pulls to the left when I hit the brakes and suspect the right side brake caliper is froze up.He wants $2,500.00 for it and I offered him $2,000.00 cash.Good price offer?Said he would think about my offer.

Thats not a bad price for what the truck is, i'd ask if the plenum has ever been done, its not a deal breaker but it will be a couple hours labor if you do it yourself or about $300-500 to have a shop do it. Otherwise, just check to make sure the heater core isn't leaking, if it is, get ready for first time a 4 hour job to replace it.

Buy it. Brake problems are easy.
Even if the plenum is blown, the new tires, trans and whatever all else is worth it.

Dodge dude is right, the trans lines are easy to fix, brakes are pretty easy and you can rent all the tools from Autozone. Disk are really easy if you can get the bleeder screw loose. (If not, you'll need a torch to heat that bad boy up to get it loose).

In the end, there is a forum of people on here who've combined done just about everything possible to these trucks and is willing to help you out.

If the bleeders on the calipers are ******, I wouldn't even bother trying to get em out. I'd just swap new calipers on.

I did decide to buy it,was yesterday.Put new brake hoses and the calipers on,no more brake problems.Ready for the winter. The seller was gone for 2 weeks.Next is put insurance and a plate on it.Put the title in my name too.The plenum was done as well and he shown me the receipt on this. This seller,he is pretty good on keeping his vehicles up.If there is a problem,he has fixed right away.
