I'm installing some hood pins tonight i think. just extra security with the fiberglass hood.

why? ive never had a fiberglass hood come apart on me on any of my vehicles, even a buddy who had a 3rd gen running high 10s never had hood pins with his hood

Truthfully, its mostly to keep some down pressure on the nose of the hood, and help close up the body gap.lol. If i rest my hand on the drive side nose, it closes the body gap quite a bit. So thats Most of my reasoning. But, also peace of mind. This hood doesn't walk at all compared to my drag car. its pretty sturdy.

i know it would suck but on my friends fiberglass hood, we took his hood struts off his truck and then it fit like OEM, he just kept one in his truck so he could attach one when he needed his hood open

You don't think you need them until you need them when that storm takes it off of your truck on the highway. Lmao

since 6 inch hood pins don't exist... i'll need to do some fabbing this weekend. when you pop out the plastic bump stops, there's really nothing there to attach the hood pins to, other than the lower piece of the boxed in channel (core support). the box itself is 2 inches deep, so that negated the length of the hood pins. Plan and execution is perfect.lol...hardware...2 inches short! unless a hardware store has some female threaded sleeves, and some all thread to extend the hood pins..hmm...

Well, 1 of 4 Bils arrived today lol and some just in case parts that I'll swap out anyway. Changed out all my bushings, CV's and ball joints about 20k miles ago but that was almost 3 years back. Pretty excited for the Bils

The trimmed up factory liners really do the Job, but yeah this weekend i plan on messing with my ABS plastic and rivet system.lol

as far as the hood pins, i remembered an easy fix that i used in the past for a brake booster...i just need a simple female threaded coupler, to extend the pins to the length i need.
