A heat gun will work wonders on it, just carefully heat it up and you can watch i go back to black, permanently, ive had it work on all my trucks...

Here is what it looked like as i did it on my old truck, and thats not any kind of shine product, ultimately what happens is you melt the top faded layer into the cap and it blends into the plasting and winds up going back to looking new...

Or you can get a replacement off ebay for like $30-$40

Here is an in progress of the rear bumper too...

Damn, lol. This'll be a great tool when I need to sell my QC to pay for a SC. Say, how long do I hold the heat gun to any particular area? Will I see it turn black before my eyes, or is it a do the process and let it set for the change to happen sorta thing? Will it work on the other black plastic pieces like the door handles, tailgate handle, mirrors, and fog light trim?

so far i have only seen it work on the bumpers, nothing else, and as far as how to do it, thats a common sense thing, it will vary on what heat gun you use, and its an instant change that you will see

Finally found my idle issue! So the truck wouldn’t idle by itself no matter how much tuning we did. I would have to lightly hold the peddle to get it to start and to keep running. If I let my foot off it would stumble and die. I did somehow get it to idle maybe 2 or 3 times but it was rare. I got the truck running and drove it to the gas station to fill up, and when I took off the gas cap I noticed it had quite a bit of back pressure. I had completely removed all the EVAP system apart from the purge valve on top of the gas tank, and plugged the feed tube to it. Well apparently that’s what actually vents the gas tank so the tank was just building pressure and messing with the fuel pressure. So I just left the gas cap off and retuned it. After that it ran perfectly! I didn’t have to peddle it to start or keep it running, and the idle smoothed out dramatically. Sometimes it’s just the little things that cause the most problems. So here is one more idle video with a quick walk around showing off the headlights and front end
It looks and sounds awesome

Yes actually haha. Ramportin1 suggested getting rid of bondo so I picked up the rage gold. Seems good so far. That color makes me want to paint my truck to match haha

I've played with plenty of body fillers while doing car audio stuff and Rage Gold is one of the best ones I've come across for ease of sanding, the only stuff I like better is from Sonus car audio, called Grey Matter but it was a lot more expensive than the Rage Gold I could pick up locally.

That was the biggest thing for me was getting it locally, now. I had 3M platinum suggested to me and I was gonna order it, but found Summit had the Rage Gold in stock. I needed to get this done as soon as possible, it’s nearing 3 months of the truck itself being in the garage. Hopefully I’m painting by next week and then it should be back on the road!

What is "green stage sanding"?

Sent from my magic 5-inch

Green stage is the short window when the filler is drying and you can just start to sand it without it gumming up the sandpaper. It allows you to knock down the ridges and obvious high spots very quickly without spending an hour sanding fully cured filler.

Just about done. Now I gotta decide if I’m going to paint it myself or send it to a shop. Only trouble is the roads are bad around here and I don’t know if I should drive on wet roads with the bondo like that. But I don’t have an ideal setup to spray here

That's not actual bondo, right? That's that 'gold' stuff, yes?

Yeah, I just say bondo as a generic description of any body filler haha

Okie Dokie. Kickass buildup to match the tailgate. That's a unique touch, bro.

Getting closer to show truck status with that, if i do say so, myself.

Thank you very much! And trust me, there have been many times I've wished I had extra people to help me so I didn't have to go so crazy haha
