Do you guys think it would be worth it for someone in my position to drop the truck I have 2/4 even though I'm planning on getting rid if it in 2 years and the lowering parts won't carry over?

if it makes you happy for 2 years why not? I put a lowering kit on a car I'm leasing, I won't get that money back, but I love how the car looks now

That depends on you. You usually won't get that money back. Is it worth the cost in order to be happy with what you're driving for the next 2 years? Or as I like to say, is the juice worth the squeeze?

True, but other things I'm planning on transferring over such as the tuner, pedal commander, wheels, etc. And the bed extender and deezee assist I want to get if possible.

What I'm saying is, is it better to just save that $1k or so towards purchasing the new truck and just do a rear shackle on this, or what? What would you guys personally do in my position?

I usually get my juice the easy way, but if I could make some badass juice, then, I guess so? Idk, I need to save to buy the new truck, and a few things can transfer, but some won't, and no matter what, if I buy parts now, it'll be taking away from money saved for the truck I want despite some of said parts going to be gotten for the new truck after I get it, anyway.

Well 2 years is a long time, if you know 100% your next truck will be a 3rd gen then id say go for it, otherwise id just do the shackle and call it a day, my black 2014 i had i did as little as possible to keep me happy with it because i knew it was only a two year truck

Try to find used parts, keep stock parts and when you decide to sell switch them back and sell the parts separately.

From everything I've heard you say, it truly SOUNDS like you don't want this 3rd gen and your real desires are for a single cab 4th gen.... So with that being said I would not put any money into the 3G OUTSIDE of treating her right and maintaining her, all those extra pennies on mods eventually add up and then you can start looking for the truck you want. Focus on your long term goal is my advice. Only money I would put into your truck now is keeping it a happy healthy ram, that's it

I think your a confused 20yr old kid. I was the same. If you don’t plan to keep the truck then why the **** put money in it other than maitnence. Do you really think you’ll want the same truck 2 yrs from now to swap stuff over to?

Lol, nah. He's kinda right.

But no, I won't want it. I don't. That's the whole idea. I was planning on maintenance only, but I want at least a couple of things.

Hence the shackle, tailgate assist, and bed extender. And tint. The most expensive two of those are the bed extender and tint. And given the look of this tint, I have to have it. Especially given Florida's heat.

So I think that's what I'll do. Maintenence, clean new oem replacement stuff like headlights and tails, tint, shackle, tailgate assist, and bed extender[this last one is for groceries and such].

The extender will hopefully tranfer over, and maybe even the assist. Everything else can stay for the next owner and if they pay the diff, I'll even leave those last two on for them.

So yeah, maintenance and DD comfort stuff. Thats it. Thanks.

So i tried a thing to make me like the center caps on the new wheels...

They were just chrome before, right? Hmm, I like this, but I still think it would look better without caps, or with custom flat caps that just cover the hub hole.

Maybe try them either way? It's not that hard to swap them on and off, is it?

Ive been looking and it doesnt seem possible to find a cap that will fit, and this rim has no groove for a cap to snap in place unfortunately
