I' m thinking of getting 18x9 wheels with +18 offset and 35/12.50 toyo mud terrain tires. I have been told that with that offset they will fit no problem with no lift just stock suspension on pw. Any thoughts out there on this?

I think you'll be good. I put 18x9.5 wheels with +6 offset and 35/12.50 BFG KO2 on mine and do have very slight rubbing when sharp turn.

I would recommend the Toyo R/T. Very similar tread pattern to the Toyo M/T, slightly less aggressive. However it has a 45k mile warranty while the M/T dosent. Im running 37inch R/Ts on my Ram 1500 (lifted) and they ride very quietly and smoothly.

you will probably rub, if you dont offroad your good to go though.

i rub with method nv and 35 toyo RT 17s... im only ok with this because i know my lift kit will arrive within the month. i despise rub, but its really not that bad with 4.75"

the toyo rt must be the best all around tire for trucks....
dry handling is superb
wet handling is superb
tire construction and quality is ideal(1000 miles)
balance was perfect, and noise is getting a little louder, but still ideal for tread

clearly the toyo MT is tougher, heavier, and better for offroad, the K02 wont last as long, and everything else, if not mud terrain, is street oriented.

tons of mud terrain tires and brands but TOYO stands on the podium for each tire category in the truck and SUV field.

i will not hesitate to jump to 37 rts next once the OEM steering components and current tires wear out

The KO2 meets the winter rated tires requirements with the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol on the sidewall.

Unfortunately for driver's of trucks who have to deal with snow, the Toyo doesn't have the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol.

Living in any Snowbelt State I would always choose a winter rated tire over one that is not. The difference may not be noticeable in a Sunbelt State until say one drives north. When it's below zero degrees Fahrenheit, snowing, and the tires capability of gripping the road is put to the test.

I am with you on that due to the KO2s when new have just a 15/32" tread depth. Not the deepest tread depth available. Prefer at least 18/32". The Toyo M/T is 21/32" in the 37 inch. When a tire wears below 6/32" in snow conditions it's time to replace. So the deeper the tread when new, the better for snow and mud.

At least radials last much longer than the 10 ply bias ply tires of which I ran on trucks years ago. Just I0,000 miles on a set of tires was considered normal wear.

The tires should be shipped to me within a couple weeks and when i get them installed ill post pictures as im hoping they will be the right fit to have zero rub.

My dad just got 52,000 out of his KO2's on his 2500

how bald? and how long since they would have been inadequate in the snow or offroad?

useful tire life is different then acceptable on road tire life. different for opinion, climate, load, driver style.

mostly highway?

I’m well aware of useful tire life and acceptable on road life. Not bald, we tow a 5th wheel often, and sometimes in rain as well as our 21 foot bass boat. Mix between highway and city, moderate driving style.

I have just over 20,000 miles on my original factory installed Duratracs. Current tread depth is approximately 6/32" of which is more than sufficient tread depth for a much longer useful tire life. I will continue to run on them until the end of summer before the first snow.

Unfortunately, while driving back from California this winter over the Sierra Nevada per California law a 6/32" tread depth is the minimum for use of winter rated tires in snow. I know that in Colorado the fine was $650 in 2015 for not meeting their snow tire requirements. I would expect California would be a much higher fine due to everything else there was.

Nitto Ridge Grappler and Toyo Open Country R/T, I recently ran Cooper STT Pro's on my JKU which were great off roading and drove well but once they wore down they sucked horribly. I promised myself never run a M/T tire as a DD ever again!

Just put a set of 35/12.50R17's on my 17 PW. No rub at full lock on stock wheels. Haven't tested off road yet, but no rub going over driveway entry-and-exits with the sway bar connected. No rub over those giant speed bumps (which I call speed mounds) at about 20mph.

edit: Tires are the new DuraTracs in 35x1250R17 load E.

Duratracs are great tires.. the diesel fellas seems to wear them a bit harder with the extra weight we carry.

They are definitely a softer tread compound. Factory tires were Duratracs in 285/70R17 in load D. I'm hoping the slightly wider footprint and the slightly harder tread compound with the E-rating will make them last a little bit longer. Well, and, I'm telling myself to stop driving it like a racecar. Haha.
