My personal review-

I installed the Solo Performance Muffler Delete Kit on my personal truck which is a 2017 RAM 2500 Power Wagon with the 6.4 Hemi. It has exceeded all my expectations. Here is why

Fit and finish- Everything lines and fits perfectly. The hangers are at the correct locations and are correct lengths so everything lines up as it should. the accuseal clamps are quality and everything is stainless steel. I really like the SMOOTH bends in the pipe. no crimps or kinks at all. Welds look good especially for a mass produced product.

Sound outside the cab- See videos in 1st post. I left the stock resonator at least for now. It sounds awesome. Deep, mean, aggressive, burble at idle. revs sound good, with its deep tone and fairly loud. Cruising it sounds good, not overly loud but lets you know its there. WOT it sounds mean! it gets loud and aggressive sounding. Definitely turns heads.

Sound inside the cab- See videos in 1st post. Here is the area that surprised me. I was shocked. with the windows up this exhaust is very tame while cruising and at idle. I wouldnt consider it loud at all. you can hear it and you know its there but under partial throttle its not loud by any means. Its hardly louder than my Duratracs as you can hear in the video above. In fact its so tame I might just delete the resonator too or maybe replace it with something that will be louder. WOT its loud like it should be! NO drone while cruising, even with the MDS you can hear it kick in but its not bad at all.

With the windows down I still wouldnt consider it loud at idle or while cruising. you can definitely hear it but its not overly loud at all.......UNTIL you go WOT. Then it sounds awesome and goes HEY EVERYONE IM A FRIGGIN BAD A$$ HEMI, LOOK AT ME!

Overall this exhaust is great for me. I really like it. It is fairly tame in the cab during most driving conditions and can get loud when i want it to be.

Feel free to ask me any questions and let me know if there is any specific pics or videos you want

This sounds amazing

thank you. I agree! I am loving this. Wish I would of done this sooner. I never expected it to be so refined in the cab as it is.

After some long highway stretches and some mountain roads and one WOT ******** overpass pull i am really loving this setup.

i found there to be very little drone. Only really when the truck was lugging a bit like 6th gear going up a hill before it downshifts. even then it was minimal. with the radio on it was almost nonexistent. Mountain roads it was great. Just some rumble when it kicked down a gear and had to rev for hills. no complaints here. even down hill with the MDS was not bad at all. actually its better than when i had an aftermarket muffler in there.

Now on to the best part. There was a long overpass I had to drive under, so naturally I went WOT!:driver:and oh man this was great It sounded amazing. What else is a man supposed to do....I wanted to video it but I didnt think of it in advance and I am not sure I could drive and hold a phone to video it all while enjoying that pleasurable sound.

I have to go the same way Wednesday so I will try to video it. It probably wont do it justice but its worth a shot. It sounded so damn good!:headbang:

A few of questions in comparing this straight pipe to the Mufflex Magnaflow system I recently bought...

1. How much louder (scale 1 to 10) is the Solo over the Mufflex at idle? (For me, stock muffler is a 3, Mufflex is a 6, Solo ???)
2. How much louder (scale 1 to 10) is the Solo over the Mufflex at WOT? (For me, stock muffler is a 3, Mufflex is a 6, Solo ???)
3. With the Mufflex, at cruising speed at around 60 mph and 1400-1600 RPMs, the drone does penetrate into the cabin just a little more than my liking. I usually have to engage tow/haul mode to lessen it. Is the drone prominent in this RPM range with the Solo muffler delete?

I'll answer your questions the best I can but its been a while since I have heard the mufflex delete in person.

1. I would give it a 6 maybe 7. its almost the same volume as mufflex BUT the idle tone is a bit different. I always thought the mufflex almost sounded like a diesel at idle, not exact but it definitely has a similar sound. Solo has more of a gasser sound for sure with a very nice idle tone

2. 7, i feel its a bit louder probably due to the larger diameter pipe (4") used for the offset which increases flow thru the back to back bends over the 3.5"

3. Last night I was in the same exact situation cruising at that speed and rpm range. The drone was there but not prominent. It was low enough that I could turn on the radio to 13(8.4 Uconnnect) and the drone wasnt noticeable anymore. In fact its hard to tell when the MDS kicks in now as far as sound when the windows are up.

Let me know if I answered all your questions or if you need me to explain anything further. Also let me know if you have any additional ones

The solo having no muffler give it more “rasp” I imagine. And thats the coolest part.

The dad/Family man in me is saying cut the resonator off and deal with what you got.

The me in me is saying sell the mufflex!!!! Straight pipe this monster!!

I should be responsable and make my own y pipe at work and cut off the resonator. Save some money and some headache from the wife saying “ didn’t you just get a new mufflex...? Why are you taking it off?”

LOL

Yes, I hear ya. If my wife sees a new FedEx package on the porch soon and then sees the mufflex laying next the OEM muffler in the garage, I can't imagine what she's going to say. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know how much I'm spending... Unless she reads these boards.
