Got in the truck around noon today to run to the store and really noticed how hot the headliner was. I leave my sunglasses tucked between the headliner and sun visor and the sunglasses were hot when I put them on. The weren't even in the sun. So, I decided to go ahead a drop the headliner and sound deaden and insulate the roof. Took about 3 hours to complete and I left the headliner in the truck. Only way I would have been able to pull it out completely was to remove at least one front seat, probably both. Anyhow, it's all done and back together. Should be much cooler now and driving to the store, I really notice how much quieter the cab is. I have all 4 doors done as well. Still need to do the back wall and the floor. Eventually.

The 2, black squares on the roof are from the factory. The do absolutely nothing to help deaden the roof panel. I left them in place as they were stuck there pretty good. I've seen some that were falling off so people would remove them completely.

Just checked the truck and it is noticeably cooler inside as compared to yesterday. Similar weather too. Still hot but not near as bad as it was. I'm thinking about dropping the headliner again to apply a second layer of the Noico sound deadener/insulation to just the recessed "pockets" where the roof skin is. There should be enough room still.

Shes perfectly aligned now. Also added a 37 gallon transfer tank in the bed. It has an electric valve that I wired to a switch in the truck. That way I can flip it going down the highway and fill the main tank. I need to shorten my toolbox about 3 inches from the bottom so that it clears the tank. 050324fbd5a8bad8f84ccf05d33bc291.jpg09ec6be51565cece4f03dfecaba20929.jpg55590146147201582bfc9f849eb1e56b.jpg

Lol, had an old civic hatch back I used for competition in the late 90’s that took some abuse, I don’t think there was a bolt or screw left when I scrapped it, they all rattled out.

The good ol'days. Do car audio shows/competitions still exist?

Gave it new plugs, all 16. I read so much stuff online about how hard/time consuming changing the plugs on 08+ 4.7L engines are, I had all 16 plugs out in less than 20 minutes. Was not as hard as people claim it is

Congrats. Took me 6 hours the first time. Of course, that was also my first time changing spark plugs, in general.

It was definitely harder than most other cars are, but then again - I work on a lot of four wheelers where you barely have enough room to reach your hand in to do anything so maybe being used to confined spaces made it easier for me to do

Did a couple of things today. Clayed the windshield then sealed it with JetSeal by Chemical Guys. Then put new Bosch windshield wipers on. Turned out great and is as smooth as butter! 6761c03ca2103a14eecc09b006fb83f7.jpgffb53aacfe137e118568c94ef0bdc8b1.jpg
I then also changed out my old incandescent reverse lights with some bright ass lights from JDM ASTAR. Huge difference compared to the old ones! 1bb9396196e69fc0a3fba726bb2be1c4.jpgd83ef71aab00cd23726d885e6d88b966.jpg forgot to turn off the porch light in this pic but the white light is from the new reverse bulbs.

Checked all the torque on my lug nuts last night and find out someone was snooping in my bed and broke of a center cap. No clue where it is now so I took them all off. Had to rethink how my flares were held on they weren’t wantin to stay put and I caught a front one on my tire.
