While I drove a Wrangler for 13 years, the Ram is new to me (07 Quad Cab 4x4 Hemi). About how much tube sand am I looking at to give it decent traction in the snow???

TIA

I put about 240lbs in the back of mine, I'm 2wd though. With 4wd and good tires I wouldn't even worry about it you'll be fine.

Well that depends on your winters. Also type of tires. If you have street tires I would guess ate around 2-300#. If you have more beefy tires like an AT tire well you may get away with none or maybe 150#. But it really depends on the type of weather. Is it all ice, or is it snow, or a good mix. I have gotten away with no more than 100 in my 4x4.
Shiloh posting as I did. Ya stink lol.

I ran 280 pounds in my 08. I had stock Crapyear HPs, and had no issues - even in 6-8 inches (most we got last year).

if you have a 4x4, use it and you won't need any weight in the back

Amen, if you can brake correctly and accelerate correctly you can do just fine. I didn't even put ne weight in mine last year cuz I had just got new tires and I did fine. But the year before that I loaded that ***** down.

I have no clue how much weight I had in mine. As I shoveld my way out, I threw the snow in the back of the truck :D It did fine the little bit I drove it, but I mainly used the 'Rango as it had new tires (NTG's werent on my truck yet), and has already been wrecked anyways... :D

depending on your winter snow fall, also types of snow. Here in NY we get alot of lake effect and that craps heavy wet shushy mix. 4X4 is prolly best for starters. I didnt use any weight and had crapyears for 2 winters and did good, but I didnt drive like the ******* you see on the side of the road stuck in a ditch. Keep speed in mind and you shouldnt have to worry. Only thing I can say is making turns can be hairy, so I just popped it in 4wheel and off I went.

Black Ice when windy in 2wd gotta watch the Throttle and below -22 Celcious All season tires are virtually useless on the Ice and road salt doesn't melt it.

PS. Ryan I take it you don't have a block heater...LOL.
