Do you guys highly recommend doing a timing chain? My 5.2 has 180k on it and I have a lot of money into the truck because previous owner didn't keep up. Basically I did the entire steering system already 4 shocks etc basically high mileage maintenance items.
The water pump finally took a ****...
I had a bad leak under the emergency brake pedal, huge rot hole. carpet was soaked for who knows how long, threw carpet out, got leak and hole professionally fixed, I'm ordering a factory rubber floor today! Pickups don't need carpet unless they are garage queens
I'm looking for one too, that U joint is what's giving me slop in the wheel. In big rigs you can buy just the u joint. Doesn't appear to be the case for a pick up. Autozone has the entire shaft (dorman) for $155

Tightened the steering up a little, there's an adjustment under the front end using an Allen key. That helped some, getting an alignment this week. There's still some slop, I have already replaced the tracking bar. Still has a knock in the wheel, think it's probably the steering shaft/universal...
Shock is compressed with a band in the box. So it's just a matter of cutting that band and throwing the bolts through it? Sounds like the toughest part will be Bustin the rusty bolts loose and getting to the bolt on the upper passenger side lol
