Red Line and RP filter - the standard for Ramforum lol. I bounce between 5W20 and 5W30 depending on what's cheaper and can ship through Amazon prime to AK. I'll have to look into LSPI oils for a future change.
My truck also has a ping when warm outside. Pretty much started after the second year of ownership. Truck has had a catch can since new and I changed to a 180 degree thermostat along with a tune to adjust the efan to come on sooner after I noticed the pinging under light load. No change at...
Mine does the same thing and only noticed it after the truck was tuned. I hear it clunking when I get back on the gas pedal after coasting while driving through my neighborhood. FWIW my truck is a crew cab with the 6.4' bed, 3.92 limited slip rear end and one piece aluminum driveshaft. I saw...
Agree. I have the GX302 in the corners as well and no one has commented on them being too bright. It's all subjective though...... just like muffler drone lol.
Autopark update also fixed my 32 gallon tank gauge as well. I was surprised that the gas gauge fix still worked even after I switched out to my unlocked pcm.
Ha too funny. My old 2010 with the 545RFE actually had the trans fluid gel during one of our interior cold snaps. The solution..... thermal bypass valve. Dealership told me that the bypass was only installed on trucks shipped to Canada and no one thought of AK. Now it appears they're...
Change out the oil twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall which averages out to 5-7,000 miles per oil change.
Use either redline or pup..... and of course a RP filter lol.
My truck has done this from day 1. It always happens on the first shift of the day or after it's been sitting longer than 6 hours. I thought about taking it in to get reflashed but have read that'***** or miss with some then developing the harsh 2-1 down shift after the flash. I think it's...
Temps are finally becoming "normal" for the winter around here and I too thought mine was idling high for too long (around 1350 RPM for 5-10 minutes). I did some observing since I saw this post and it appears the idle will drop below 1000 RPM when the coolant temp gets to 140F. If the truck...
Transmission heater is the same type of silicone pad that is used for the oil pan. Some say it's bad because you're prematurely wearing out the fluid because of the heat. To me it's not a big deal because the 8 speed transmission already has a heater trying to get it up to around 185 degrees...
I had CORE weld on a tab with a nut and bolt when I ordered mine. They only charged an extra $10. Be nice if that came standard, but in the end maybe it's not an issue.
Just got my notice in the mail. Does anyone know how this works with an unlocked pcm? I would of course put the stock pcm back in when going to the dealer for the flash, but wondering when I switch back out to the unlocked pcm if the changes would remain. Not really concerned about the...
