so i did some search and was looking at different sellers.

I have a 14 ram 1500 sport 4x4 tow package

it already has tow mirrors with the turn signals and puddle lights working but non power folding.

I want to upgrade to power folding.

Can anyone chime in on this for me.

The 2 sellers i was looking at was 1A Auto and Infotainment

Thanks

Well I just took a look and it looks like there's a large difference in price between the two options. The Infotainment version looks like it will be come as close to factory as possible. Not sure if they are including Mopar mirrors or aftermarket like 1A Auto. 1A Auto setup looks like you'll need to install there switch somewhere to make it work. The two questions I have for Infotainment are:
1. Are the included mirrors Mopar or aftermarket?
2. When flipped out in tow mirror mode do the controls for up/down and left/right adjust to work correctly? (I have the regular power fold mirrors in my truck already. I know that I can install the 1A Auto powerfold tow mirrors, but the controls don't map correctly when the mirrors are flipped up for towing. Not a big deal, but it would be cool to know if the Infotainment guys got their mirrors working 100% correctly.)

If you swap them out let me know as I've been looking for a set of tow mirrors without the power folding.

Mirrors are OEM, or at least they were when I left working there in July. When I wrote the code for the programming, it was set to detect if the mirrors were moose ear or not and fix the mapping.

1AAuto - The Trail Ridge mirrors they sell are not OEM, but they are the closest you can come to OEM quality without paying 4 times as much for the OEM mirrors. I installed a set on my 2014 Express last month. As I had the regular mirrors without the lights, etc., I had to buy new door modules, tow mirror brackets and the switch from other sources and an ODB Genie direct. The mirrors fit beautifully and work perfectly except for one thing. The controls are not correctly oriented when the mirrors are flipped up. When I called them (1AAuto) on this, after several days of research, they told me that the Trail Ridge mirrors do not have the internal sensor to tell the truck when they are flipped up. They offered to let me return the mirrors and refund my money, which I declined. I can live with the out of sync controls for the few times I run with them flipped up. I also called ODB Genie to see if they had simply not included the code for flipped up tow mirrors in my Genie. They promised to investigate and call me back but never did.

Infotainment - OEM Mirrors, modules & switch pre-chosen for you. Can't say for certain if the controls are correct when flipped up, but they use the same ODB Genie for programing. Also, for some reason Infotainment seems fond of telling people that they do not need the tow mirror brackets. I believe this is a major mistake and they are needed for any tow mirror. They prevent vibration and they prevent the door sheet metal from buckling if downward pressure is applied to the mirror.

BTW: By all reports I've seen, Infotainment and ODB Genie are the same company or at least sister companies under the same ownership.

1AAuto has two packages. One is just the mirrors and requires you to either already have power folding mirrors or to buy new door modules and door switch separately and either have the dealer add sales codes or buy an ODB Genie. The other has a switch and wiring harness that you install so you don't need the new OEM parts/programing. However I think you would still need the programing to get the turn siganls and puddle lamps to work if you don't already have them.

OBD genie/Infotainment/NavRepair are all the same owners and even in the same building.
