Hello, its winter here now and I've noticed my truck is leaving behind some yellowish leak spots in the middle towards the rear of the truck.

I'm not sure if it's gasoline or some other kind of fluid.

I've also been getting the error code that is associated with a loose gas cap, P0456

Is this likely a gasoline leak, I think the error code has something to do with a leaking evap emission.

What are your thoughts?

Have you felt the liquid and smelled It? Whats the consistency? Fuel is very specific.

I couldn't cause it was soaked in snow. Could really tell what it was. I didn't smell it because I've had a cold and my nose is plugged to hell lol. I'll see if I can get a better feel/smell of it.

What other yellowish liquid could be towards the rear?

There's only three liquids back there. Fuel, brake fluid and Diff lube.

Closer to the center is the transfer case and then the transmission but that fluid is red.

So given the P0456 error is likely leaking gasoline.

That's definitely a possibility. Gonna have to crawl up under there and find where it's coming from.

Is Gasoline yellow in te US?
A fuel leak also should be to smell even with a clogged nose.
Yellow liquid looks like brake fluid to me, you may check the brake fluid level on your engine bay.

Wouldn't the brakes become pretty soft with a brake fluid leak?

I'll tried already but everything is wet and dripping from snow! Made it difficult to locate anything.

Not necessarily but most likely yes. If it's enough to leave a puddle you'd be able to tell. But it doesn't hurt to check the reservoir.

Gasoline in the US looks clear, but has a yellow hue to it.

Put a match to it and see if it ignites. Then you would know if it's gas.
