I say run what you’ve brung, and use the time afterward to familiarize yourself with tuning.

Yea, for sure. I've been waiting for this for what feels like forever. I'm going to go up there this morning and get some pictures. I called yesterday and they said they had the interior out and was doing the dynamat. Will post what I get. Can't wait to hear it tho. Need to go make the payment too so wells Fargo doesn't end up with it. Haha.

This was after 1 day. They didn't use the cheap stuff on the floor as asked several times, but looks like progress. ce221e6139cd5d0674c64e90094db68b.jpg5eca489e6c79bea06e86f5067dcf88e7.jpgf3da5b60e893c62f1ff2b57342cf998c.jpg

Looks like they are moving along just well.

Man are you in Texas? I saw a license plate a couple weeks ago resembling your "signature" here. Haha. Should get it back tomorrow. Maybe Thursday. They forgot to put the foam on the doors. But going back to do it. Amp rack was being built today when I stopped by. They have slacked a bit in the past week by doing all the other jobs that come in. But I'm not gonna complain yet. Luckily I have an 04 ram to putt around in while I'm waiting. Got a bit excited today tho seeing the amps finally inside the truck (not wired or mounted) instead of in the show room. Can't wait!

Lol, nope currently I am located in New Jersey so no Texas tags for me. It’s always a great feeling to see your build coming along. Sadly a lot of shops pull their guys off of more intense builds to handle “ quickie “ jobs as they call them. Back in my installed days ( when wheels were wooden lol ) my boss used to try that with me. The problem there is when you get pulled for so many jobs, you tend to forget the basics of the first job.

its is also because the installers get paid commission so if they can get a few small jobs in during the large one they make more money.

I would do it this way. especially if i was waiting for either material to arrive or things to dry (fiberglass, paint)

Commission shops are the worst when it comes to this. On the flip side, they usually get the job done right the first time, other wise they lose money.

Yea I went back up there yesterday and you could tell they just weren't in it. I had custom heat shrink made and they had 3 different wires labeled with front right tweeter. Turns out the dude was up there at like 3 in the morning working on it. Also apparently there isn't room to do what I wanted. So I do not have 0 gauge wire going to all the amps as I intended, rather 4 gauge. None of my reducers were used. By the time it's all said and done there is going to be about $500-1,000 worth of equipment/material I bought for the system not being used. I'm not upset too much, just wish I had saved that money.

I would be disappointed by the work already. This is basic stuff - and if something can't be done it should discussed on day one. Not using the product, forgetting layers of the deadener. These guys are not very professional. I really hope it turns out well for you.

^^^. This I have to agree with, if there were any problems as they were found they should have been brought to your attention. Now on the other hand they can’t do the impossible so if gear was purchased that wasn’t needed, I hope there’s a way for you to recoup that capital. Did they give you an eta at least ?

Is this still at a best buy or somewhere else?

With the tuning it will probably be tomorrow. Maybe today but I doubt it. I want it tuned properly for sure.

Somewhere else. The first place I had intended to take it where I had my girls car done.

They probably broke all the clips, ripped the leather and headliner, and blew the speakers, and now he is so mad he won't post lol.

I hope everything worked out ok...that has got to be a nerve wracking deal.
Regarding tune, be careful...a tune that is considered "SQ Competition" is actually pretty boring. I always tune with extra girth on the low end frequencies. What sounds amazing to one, may not to another...you might even get resistance from a tuner to "not push things too far"...I say screw that....tune it yourself, expect to be tuning for months if not years, have fun with it...it's your hard earned gear, enjoy it.
