At one time this is all I needed to see!
Notice the Amsoil & RP filters are Identical. (At this point & Time)
The FU specs are second to none!

Any of these filters is over kill but awesome piece of mind!

By the way I really like the new forum layout.
Yeah, I just wander what their changing now. The Amsoil filters were out of stock for awhile, and now the RP filters are in short supply too.

I wonder if the Champion labs bankruptcy is effecting supply. I'm telling you guys buy what RP filters you can, soon you may not be able too.

I hope it don't mean that we will have to run mexican made K&N's.

Me personally I would not flinch too spin on any of these tested in that video. I’m somewhat partial to the FU!
I have always liked the under dog in the fight. But since I bought a RP first it will be going on my new 6.7L with its first OCI.
Then a FU will follow with my 2nd OCI.

I’m going to run the RP then the FU then the Wix XP & take very close notes of Oil PSI.
**** I might end up sticking with the Fleetguard Stratapore.

Oil pressure in any closed system is determined by the most resistance to flow at any given point. If your oil filter is effecting your oil pressure, you've got some very loose bearing tolerances and very big problems!

Thanks Rampant for your input.
Notice I just said (take notes) or (watch closely).
I worded that in that manner for a reason.

I am still curious if Champ Labs is still manufacturing all these synthetic media filters?
From what I read this was not your normal bankruptcy situation (chapter 9) if I remember correctly where they can still remain in production but only restructure the company assets!
I do remember: It was not the Normal Bankruptcy case (where they close the doors at that time).

For those who remember: We chatted about this a year ago or so.

Don’t know! Never followed up with it.

If oil filters like the RP and Amsoil fall off the face of the earth or loose their quality....
Ill have no issues jumping on a wix XP or back to the FU if i have too.

They are still decent filters.

I just went on the Amsoil website and the oil filters are available again. Maybe they'll get this all sorted out.

Some had said they were having trouble finding the FU also, Burla might have been right that it has to do with the backrupcy of champion labs.

I found this info on Amsoil's blog... looks to me like they are using a different manufacturer for their filters or they had a specific application issue with this filter in particular. This filter is not for a Hemi.

"The Ea15K20 Oil Filter will soon incorporate minor changes to its flute design and baseplate. Moving forward, the GA264 Filter Wrench will no longer fit the Ea15K20. The GA251 Filter Wrench is recommended in its place. The performance and applications for the Ea15K20 remain unchanged."

I ended up using a Mobil 1 filter this time as I needed it in a pinch and I won’t be keeping this oil in as long as the ultra I just changed. Love the RP filters they are a tank.

The Napa in Minot carries a full line of Amsoil and filters, which are the same as RP. That is, unless something has changed in the three years since I left there.

I should have done that could have used an Amsoil filter instead. I had to put in a new thermostat and I figured I would just change the oil too. I can live with the Mobil but not my first choice of course. Do you know does that Napa do preferred pricing or is just what they are asking? There is a dealer about three doors away and they don’t honor preferred pricing.

I don't remember their pricing structure. But, I do know that it was cheaper for me to buy through Napa using my mil discount vs PC pricing + shipping. As I remember it, the shipping was quite a bit.

I think I would wait to get the Amsoil EA or the RP, as opposed to settling for a lesser filter, but that's just me.
Yes, I am going to use the EA. As the place in taking my
Truck has the EA filters. Normally I do my own changes but I need an alignment and don’t want to get under the truck outside in the winter [emoji23][emoji23]

JMO. I would find any way i could to change my oil myself. When i got my first house we took down the old garage and there was a time that i was changing oil laying in the snow in my driveway. Id do it again.

Just me though.

Can you do it at your work in a shop or somthing?..... i just assuming we all work in a shop environment..

Just watch a video on the send off of the last Dodge Viper in Miami Florida. They turn it into a Pennzoil advertisement showing that they use Pennzoil Ultra Paltinum 0W 40 in the vipers.

LOL.

I guess if they are partners with Pennzoil than that is the oil the viper was stuck with.

LOL.

Just not sure id be ok with PUP 0w40 in my supercar.

So just looked at my spark plug thread, I can't edit any of my posts! I can edit the ones I did today but not any of my older ones...

I know right, 40w is way to thick in todays modern engines with the super duper tight tolerances, they should be running 20w.
