Have any of you guys bought one of the tips from ebay or amazon that are 2.5" inlet 5" outlet and 18" long? I know monstar diesel has a few on ebay but just wanted to see if these were any good. Thanks!

I have a 2015 Big Horn Quad cab with the factory duals btw.

They look good to me, SS is the only way to go.

If they bolt right up let us know thats a way cheaper option.

I spoke to that vendor the other day and he told me that the sales they have are for 1 tip only. So double that price.

the problem with these is that when you un-bolt the stock tip, there is a lip / ring at the end of the exhaust pipe that still remains under the truck. The stock exhaust pipe is not simply round and flush. The stock exhaust pipe and the tip kind of snap together like a snap button on a winter coat or jacket. So mounting these slide on tips arent going to stay in place all that well.

Yes in the ad it shows one tip, still 130 is cheaper.
I would think you would have to cut the end of the stock pipe off and then slip the new tip over it and clamp it down just like most any aftermarket tip, just like my muffler the tip should stay in place.

the stock exhaust is 2.5" outlet though, so they will have to do something to compensate for the difference. That's my problem. I have some tips, but they are 3" inlet. Also, those summits are only 10" long. The stock tip is 14" long from clamp to tip.

Well that does suck, a muffler shop could stretch them to fit and weld them on bit then the price wont be cheap any more.

the only way that works is if they cut your stock tips but leave enough to weld the new ones on. Or, you're buying pipe from them to make it work

It’s not a big deal, take it to a local muffler shop and they’ll cut the stock tip and weld the new one on. They can easily adapt to other exhaust sizes.

I had some 4.5” Black Chrome tips that were only 10” long installed along with my FM40 on my old truck and the shop did it no problem. I’d post a picture but it’s saying the file is too large.

Few more. It the photos they seem to hang low for whatever reason, didn’t look like that in person. I do agree that a longer tip would look nicer but a 10” tip will work.

Will do. What kind of tone will a tip that long have? Obviously will be deeper, but i'd think a longer tip would make it a bit louder as well. Hoping it will pair well with the mufflex delete I have on there.
