Off the oil topic: But ever since I watched Shawn’s videos & seen his use of the scan gauge, I myself was very intrigued.

Hence come summer I will be investing in one for my new Ram.
I find A lot of the information it shares very valuable.

I've had a lot of scan tools over the years. They are almost a necessity for troubleshooting these days. For daily monitoring if you have an Android phone, you really can't beat the Torque app. It is fully customizable, cheap, and convenient. Here's a video to familiarize...

What type and weight oil are you running Sir ?

PUP 0W40 Sir. I'm kinda new here, but glad to hear you're doing well. That oil deal Burla turned us onto for RL 10W30 at $ 9.97/qt got cancelled by the seller. Was looking forward to those 2 cases.

Thanks , your temps and pressure looks great , one thing I do like about PUP is the oil temp is much easier to get well above 212°f than similar Redline products , don't get me wrong I do prefer RL , but Pup is a great oil especially the 0W-40 !

Very happy to hear that. I learn more every day on this forum. I've been maintaining my bikes, cars and trucks since '72. Never knew oil was so critical. PS: also using RP filter 10-48, thanks to this thread. Thank you. Ed.

This guy? It is where I've got my last 3 cases, sorry it didn't work. Are you in Canada?
Yup, that's the guy. I called and they said they cancelled the order because their drop shipper is moving and can't ship oil for 4 weeks or more. What ****** me off is on eBay, it says I requested the cancellation.

Kind of interesting results so far, Lots of love for Pennzoil, looks like it is taken over top spot from M1. I think it is a legit choice, the 5w30 is a great choice for the 5.7, and the 0w40 is one of the best oils you can get. Surprised only shooter is using supertech, guys it is group 3 oil for 17 bucks for 5 qrts, if not for the lack of moly I would have jugs of this stuff. More redline users then m1, that can't stand, lol. I would bet m1 may even take the perch of top spot someday, but I like Pennzoil being on top, people are paying attention to the manufacturers relationship with the oil company and doing research on a great formula. Doesn't hurt that Syn got the forum plenty of free cases neither...

I'm using a (5/2) blend of PUP 5w20 and 0w40, and I came to this from my early days on this Forum. I'm going to stick with it, as I've had no issues and a nice quiet engine for over 11,000 miles so far.

@ Murph , that's a good combo of a great oil , why not go with a 50/50 mix of the 5W-20 & 0W-40 PUP ? This way you increase Molybdenum ,zinc , phophorus and Calcium and your mixture would still be like a thinner 30 wt [emoji16]

Wouldn't 50/50 make it a 2 1/2 w 30?

LOL , Thats right ! [emoji16]
Still a thinner viscosity 30 wt oil overall with 1/2 the benefits (additives package wise ) of running the infamous Supper oil PUP 0W-40 [emoji106]
