You on the road Kap? Still waiting to see if that tick is still there when you get back.
I'm leaving Tuesday but today I got a CEL after I tried to start truck with my python remote start, and it didn't start the first time.

Oh yeah, and no more tick after I put in RedLine 5-30 couple days ago.

I'm hoping that the remote start somehow glitched and caused the CEL, I cleared the CEL earlier today and so far it didn't come back. It was different CEL than before. Here it is... Any thoughts?

I'd start by checking all the harness connections. (Pay special attention to the injector they replaced) Those are all comm errors, save for the P02, which is an injector open circuit. I'd disconnect the battery, then unplug and inspect every harness connector under the hood one at a time. Spray the connections with contact cleaner while apart and put dielectric grease on all the male pins and carefully plug them back in properly if no visible damage is found.

Reconnect the battery and drive it. You're going to have to start/drive/stop/restart many times in order to get all systems into closed loop. Many codes will not trip a CEL until the respective system is in closed loop. Each system has to meet different parameters to go into closed loop. Basically, just drive it normally plus a few WOT onramp jaunts and freeway cruises. Make sure it gets up to operating temp before shutting it off each time. If you have access to a decent scan tool or even the Torque app, it will indicate system open/closed loop statuses.

If you've put everything back together correctly and still get the same codes, you'll have to have a shop run self-tests on the PCM/BCM/DTCMs for faults. If it is none of those things, I'd suspect a common wire or bus is shorting in certain situations due to vibration/chaffing/corrosion or the like. Electrical problems can be a real btch to chase down, take your time while inspecting those pins! Good luck and pls let us know what you find.

Hello, was following the conversation regarding the misfire, cam issues.
I have a 2013 1500 5.7 that's currently at the shop (Dealership) have had all maintenance from day one, done including the notorious exhaust manifold bolt redo, both sides. Currently theirs about 170,000 miles on it. Last trip into the shop the misfire code appeared (#5) After a chat with the mechanic and service writer, they are claiming that the cam is worn and as a result I need to replace the engine because the shavings from the cam will have compromised the engine. The service writer said the swap would be $9,700 this would be a 36 month 100,000 warranty, I drive a lot 42k a year. BTW I did look under the hood at the suspect lifter and its toast, moves a fraction of the others. So the question is are they right the motor should be replaced or, is there a more cost effective alternative? Or should I have posted this some where else? I'm the nfg here ;-)

Local rebuild don’t think you would need to swap but I guess it would depend how bad the current one is. Seems 2013 have a lot of engine fails compared to the early 4th gen like 09-11.

it's hard to say. Sometimes it's smooth, sometimes there's some knocks on the background, but definitely sounds about 50% quieter than on the pennzoil that dealership put in. It was painful to listen to it while I had pennzoil in it for a few days...
