I use A for keeping track of my oil change interval fuel mileage, and B as my "every tank mileage" deal.

I also do every fill up, except on very long trips where I use "A" to track my total miles for the trip.

???? He asked about resetting the fuel mileage...not the trip meters.

I reset mine every fill-up unless on a long trip.

The 'A' & 'B' are odometers for miles traveled not mpg. I use mine when on trips, but otherwise, don't really pay attention to them.

The fuel mileage only covers the past few hundred miles on the Ram for some reason, it doesn’t calculate it since the last reset like most other cars, so whether it is reset regularly or not you on,y see the average of the past little bit.

Never. If I want to see mileage on a trip.... I'll reset one of the trip modules.

But that has nothing to do with fuel economy

I've never touched mine. The number it shows "might" be since I bought the truck but I don't know for sure. Since I got a CPO I'll assume the dealer may have been involved in some procedures that may have included resetting things like that, or possibly a battery disconnect that also reset things.

In any event my mileage after over 5K miles is running around 19. Shocked the heck out of me! After a week or so running around the Boston area I saw it had dropped to 18+ and I haven't looked in a week or so, but the number I am seeing is WAY better than my '01 Dakota 4X4 with the 3.9 even when I light footed it! That truck probably averaged 13-15 for the 72K miles I owned it.

How do you switch between the two ? A and B ?

A & B are trip odometers...and to switch between them, the actual odometer, and the engine hours, just push the odometer reset button 1 time each...pish & hold will clear the reading if it is on A or B
