Corsa catback actual volume

Hey guys,

So I'm having a hard time choosing exhaust here. After hours of youtube clips I've decided I like the Corsa dB system sound the best. What I'm curious about is the actual volume it will bring. I like the higher pitched, raspy, performance sound on it (Don't judge, but I'm trying to replicate an LS sound). My Camaro has a heavy cam, no cats, and SLP loudmouth II which sounds amazing, but will wake the freaking dead. So I'm wanting to know how loud and tolerable the Corsa is on a day to day driving basis because I want that similar high rev performance sound, but with the ability to hear the person in the passenger seat. I'm also considering the outlaw, American thunder, and mufflex systems. I don't like the sound quite as much on those, but for a 50% price difference plus no welding its definitely worth considering.

most recently, I've had a corsa cat back system on a tundra 5.7, Pontiac G8 GT, ram 1500 5.7 and my current 17 mustang gt. all four have been very similar. the volume only really comes on when you get on it. it's definitely no drone and relatively quiet with just a slight rumble driving. there is a decent bark on cold start but it settles in quickly. never really had major concern for disturbing the neighbors with my Corsas. I live in a relatively 'elderly' area too. Now my current 2500 magnaflow/mufflex is definitely more intrusive at start up, cruising speed and acceleration. But they don't make a corsa for the 6.4 yet/ever.
corsas are definitely a raw / clean raspy sound. down side, you tend to bury the skinny pedal more often just to hear the aural ****.

I don't think they offer the 'extreme' version for the 1500 but my buddy has them on his 17 stingray. a bit too loud for me.

Highly recommend the Corsas.

Pretty well covered in the last post. While cruising it's hardly noticable. Only loud at cold start and when your getting on it. I have a Corsa system on my SRT8 and a Corsa dB muffler on the CTD.

As Nick and reek noted, when cruising the sound is a pleasant rumble in the background. Get on it and they snarl, snap and bite. Cold starts are a lot of fun to be around.

I'm a big Corsa fan and have been for years. I can't imagine having something else on my vehicles.

Sounds like that's the one for me then. Does anyone know if you can buy just the muffler setup rather than the whole $750 catback?

You can get the dB series mufflers as a single unit.

Agreed with all of the above. I got the corsa PN 14405BLK which is slightly higher quality than the DB system and thus more expensive. Sounds great when you get on it but it’s calm low rpm and on the highway

I pulled the trigger on a Corsa with the black tips a little while back. Still sitting in the box in my garage. No I won't sell it to you!!

I'm waiting for MOPAR to replace my hood (have a thread on this) before I put the exhaust on because I am getting a new rear bumper at the same time. Yes I backed into something and made a nice dent in the bumper....

I had a Corsa system on my 2014 WRX, it sounded SICK!! Did not sound like rice, on a rice car. Everyone loved it!

I sure as heck hope this is true and not mistaken for the passenger car 6.4! my last contact with Corsa was a bit sad as they said it was still in the 'considering' phase.

just in case, I'm going to start working overtime and saving money. Wife will get nothing for Christmas... bigger issues are almost at hand!

back about 6 years ago, Corsa had stand alone mufflers, reds and blacks. I called Corsa, got the very last 2 units of the reds in the states for my 65 El Camino. Since then I didn't think they were selling just the mufflers. but now Maddog has brought up and interesting tid bit:

do you by chance have a link? I can only seem to find the diesel db mufflers. I would love to get a set for my 72 D100 restoration!

I was referring to the diesel dB mufflers, reek.

Not sure why they would be considered diesel only units, though, other than being a 4" diameter inlet & outlet, which can still be used on smaller diameter system by using reducers.

It shouldnt have been a mistake as I asked specifically for RAM2500 6.4. I am going to try to talk to them today about it again. the 6.4 cars have all had kits from corsa for some time now.

What are the part numbers for the normal corsa 5.7 hemi kit with dual exhaust? Doesn't Ram sell the premium Ram exhaust (Corsa) and if they install it you keep the factory warranty?

how does installing a Corsa instead of the "ram" exhaust void the factory warranty? Not trying to be stroppy, just actually curious.

Research Magneson Moss Act. Putting a Cat Back on can not void your warranty. If they try, just say "Magneson Moss Act and you'll be hearing from my lawyer".

I have never heard of a catback voiding your warranty or a dealer even trying to pull that.
