hey guys,
just got the unit in this morning and went straight to install it.
everything works as advertised, full integration with the car screen is crisp and fit is good.

2 things were an issue tho..
1. the AC adapter harness had to be trimmed to allow the stock plug to connect to it also the end going into the head unit had to be filed a bit as it was a really tight fit.
2. the bottom plastic cover (just below the radio) had to be trimmed to allow for the unit to fit

2 really minor things (I've done more for the Kenwood install on my 2012).
the unit can preloaded with android 6.0.1 and runs pretty smooth, the built in nav is sweet too (if you have nav already then you don't need the included antenna)

boot time is about 30 seconds, but the rear camera pops up without having to wait for the unit to load.. this is something I was concerned about but it turned out ok.
I've included a quick pic, will post more later. please feel free to ask any questions.

Really interested in this, what kind of audio connections are on the back? Any rca? Can you connect multiple cameras? Do you have access to the google play store on the unit?

yes you've got a total of 4 camera inputs.
one set of rca out and one set of rca in.
you've also got a dvr in as well if you want to connect a dash cam.

Google play store is preloaded and you can download just about anything. I use spotify alot so that's the first thing I installed, again all worked really well.

Looks awsome! Really nice too. If I didn’t just pick up a new 18 with the 8.4 with NAV and apple car play I would have for sure done this with my 5.0.

So is this only for the base audio system or will it work with the alpine upgraded 8.4 system?

Gotta admit.....it looks good.

Not sure how distracted I’d be when driving and trying to use it. Lol.

Got any videos of this radio and all the features?

Dammit man, I just installed the Kenwood 9904s. Lost some screen rather than gaining some like I would with this. But it was part of an Sq system build. Not sure what this thing would do for that having only 1 rca out. Looks amazing tho.

Well now... this was a thread I did not need to see. My poor wallet. This is awesome!! Sub'd really hoping for more insight on this and a review after you've used it a bit. Thanks for being the forum's guinea pig on this!

Is there a yearly fee to use this or does it hook up through wifi of your phone in order to have the navigation and other items like music to be played?

They sell Wifi hotspot and 3g kits so I would guess you have to buy one of those or tether your phone to it.

Yeah looking quickly at their site its essentially a tablet/headunit running android so you're gonna tether it or setup with a hotspot/simcard. I'm curious after looking on the site the level of integration with ONLY buying the radio unit and no additional ad-ons. For the price it is incredible especially if it offers all the factory touches. Once thing i'd be curious about is does any GPS app utilize the turn by turn in the instrument cluster... those are the sort of integrations that will allow it to operate fully OEM.

Just saw this..
USB and SD work fine.. but the unit doesnt play well with phones, so if Iphone is your go to media device your best option is Bluetooth streaming.
If spotify or tunein radio is your preferred programs (as is my case) then just install them on the headunit through the playstore.

Over the last few days I was able to to use the unit more and more and honestly I found the sound to be ok but not better than stock. (I have infinity reference speakers all round with factory amp)

So I really want to know if this can connect all of my cameras to it like my LockPick does. I have a front camera, turns x2, and a cargo camera. Any idea and if so can the unit be set to display them automatically?

In addition, can you post a picture of the back of the unit and all of the connections if you took some before installing?
