JUST ORDERED SOME NEW GEARS FOR MY TRUCK. KEPT GOING BETWEEN THE 3:92, 4:10, 4:56 GEARS. I HAVE a 2011 RCSB with a little help form some long tubes, magneson, and L&M transmissions to help out getting the power to the road. Last year I dropped it 2/4 and this years change will be the gear swap. I bought the truck new in April 2011 and I am looking at putting another upgrade on this winter.
Finally went with changing from my stock 3:55 Limited slip gears to ordering the stock 4:10 gears from Moes. I will post the differences that I notice.

Thanks to anyone who may be interested.

Thanks for the comments on the truck also.

You're going to love 4.10s, which were a great choice with the mods you have.

I'd really like to hear your impressions, after the gear goes in.

You're gonna love it. Don't be surprised if you see an small increase in mpg too if you can keep your foot out of it long enough to cruise and keep it at 70 on the highway.

Shortbed, dash pic. As you can see, 4.10s aren't low. You'll soon agree, 4.10s are what the truck should have come with, from the factory. This pic was taken this evening, January 21. Calm air, 51F, 89% humidity. Hilly terrain.

Dumb question. Is it just a simple gear swap for 4x4? Front and rear obviously. Didn’t know what all you have to get into to do this?? Looking to put 4.10’s or 3.92’s in my ram. Live in P.a and it’s hilly. Put 37’s on my truck

Your best bet on a 13 Pa is to hunt up a wrecked 13+ 4X4 with 3.92's and buy the front diff out of it,and if the price is right both diffs.Quite often you can buy the rear diff with 3.92's for less money then it costs to swap 3.92 gears into your existing housing.Plus the average guy can swap both diffs on a driveway in a day pretty easily. The deepest you can go with the later style ZF front diff is 3.92's,if you want to go to deeper gears then that, you have to hunt up the earlier 09/10 AAM front diff and swap it in,and to do that is a fairly indept process,as to do it right you need the corrosponding front driveshaft and you'll also need to swap the drivers side motor mount and gather up a couple brackets. You can build brackets to adapt the AAM front diff into your 13,but they're kind of involved and unless you're pretty decent at working with steel, swapping the mount is the better way.

Yeah that is complicated. Great info. Thank you....Sooo what’s biggest gears I can put in Mine without having to buy an entire front end and swap it out? Didn’t realize it was gonna be that HUGE of a project. Thought I could just do gears. Think I might cross this upgrade off the list if I gotta change the entire front end out.

Depends some of the earlier ZF front diffs could have the ring gear welded to the carrier and you can't swap the gears in them, you have to swap the whole housing.I've got a couple of the ZF front diffs laying around, but I've never opened them up to check to see if the carrier is actually welded to the ring gear. The front diff is actually a pretty easy swap, after you remove the axles and driveshaft, there's only 7 bolts holding it in,and only 3 of them are a bit difficult to get at,the other 4 you can get at with an impact and long extension.Honestly after swapping the front and rear diffs in and out of my truck a couple times,i'd rather swap the front diff,it's the easy one to do,lol.

Thanks for info but think I’m DEF gonna pass on this upgrade lol...WAY to much work and effort. Isn’t hindering my truck that much at all to do all that swapping. If it was gears I would do it in a min.

Can't wait for the install coming next week. Kept going between 4.56 or the 4.10's
The truck is the stock color. Deep Water Blue Pearl. I traded my 2004 F150 Heritage extended cab 4 wheel drive XLT that I bought new and had paid off in on it. Back in 2011 I saw the ad for the Hemi Express and was hooked. Who could say no to a 390 HP single cab short bed. Bought the truck brand new from the dealer and it was love at first sight. Within the first month the orignial muffler was off, and the Mufflex was on. Then I found Ramforum and this it was like a game changer. In 2014 I had some medical issues and decided to change my life. First thing was to take care of myself, and in the same breath I decided to do something that a NORMAL person may not do. I went to a local speed shop after researching a few in the area and had the Magneson put in. Wasn't long after that the trans was going and again I researched on ramforum for a transmission. L&M (Mike Herbert) from Delaware was such a big help. I would have never found him without the help of Ramforum. Last Year I had the truck lowered, added the RT 22"'s and couldn't be happier. After the gear swap this year I figure it will be time for a new brake system. Thanks for all the support for everyone at Ramforum. I hope that someone who is new to the site will read a story of someone who is passionate about their vehicle and start posting their own story. Thanks again and I will keep you all posted.

Thanks again and as always to Moes for all you're help and the help you have given to me through the years.
