Has anyone recently seen this around? There's an old thread on the front emblem but I don't want to take a chance getting pulled over for different colors up front. I saw one locally the other day where the eyes lit up 24/7. I was curious about making one that glows red and used the eyes along with the brakes. There's a site you can purchase this for 80-90 bucks but there's no way I would pay that...would this be difficult to do? Or is there somewhere you can purchase this for cheaper? I'm open to all opinion/ideas

I did the eyes in the front of mine. If I’m not mistaken, you can take the rear emblem off, drill the holes in the eyes and run the wires threw the hole of the tailgate to line the emblem up? If that’s the case, just run the 2 wires to the taillight circuit? Seems to good to be true.

What brand lights did you use? Are they eyes sealed or open with just a small light in the space behind the head? I've been interested in goofing around with this, but would definitely want the eyes sealed and am looking for something that would fit good, but also look just a clean when the lights are not on.

I got 2 small LED diodes from superbrightleds. Used a dremel to open the back of the emblem. Drilled the eyes, and then siliconed the lights into the eyes. Tied it into the parking lights.

Have you purchased anything else from them? Have been scoping that site out and its like the Home Depot of leds, seems you can get just about anything you need for custom lighting builds. If they have quality led, that place will be my new friend.

That looks really cool. Almost makes me wish my truck had a RAM emblem on it somewhere to do this to.

...almost ;)

I broke down and purchased a kit from a small shop out of Texas that make these. My OCD kicked in and I instantly regretted not marking these myself once I opened the box. The eyes were crooked, they used 3mm leds which I think is perfect but the holes they drilled were closer to 5mm, and when I took a night shot you can see half of the ram emblem (like the paint wasn't double or triple coated in that area). The backlight is suppose to shine only on the outside and not glow through the ram head. So I have to mask everything off and spray some more black on the ram head and horns to finish this product. If this doesn't fix it, I might just take my stock one I took off and drill more accurate eye holes in that to fix my irritation. IMG_1845.JPG6e0297eaf82fc9ead9d4a0c6c8e2cdd1.jpg

Looks like pretty good reviews.
Jay

Think I’ll get one and paint the in lay color matched blue. Change the high mount light to an all led white cab light as the lighted Ram on the tailgate would become the 3rd brake light.

I like the all white led cargo light. But I really don't need anymore light in my bed lol
