My wife and I do alot of camping. We pull the trailer behind, and use the truck bed for transporting things that don't fit in the trailer storage compartments. As I approach age 60, getting in and out of the truck bed is getting more difficult. Does anyone know if there is some kind of storage options for the bed that might allow me to pull things towards the tailgate instead of climbing in after them? I have a bed liner and have considered making two "sleds" since things slide easily, but wanted to hear from others about possible solutions

I really like the “two drawer” design of the truck vault, and decked systems. Price is kinda high for my taste though.
Might try a DIY at some point.

Another option thats a little cheaper but still works to keep you on the ground is to get a boat or mooring hook. They are dull hooks used to grab boats or buoys and pull/push them. You can get 6ft boat hooks for as little as $50. Its not perfect, boxes without any ropes or loops are gonna be difficult to move, but it's something that sits in my bed just because its handy.

I built a DIY bed slide out of OSB, 2x2 picket, some drawer handles, wheels from harbor freight. Sealed with some sort of Behr decking rubber product. used it in my Avalanche all the time as the Tailgate sat REALLY high in that truck and I didn't have the step bumpers. With my broken back, crawling up in there was a pain, to say the least.

The bedslide cost a grand total of about $80 all said and done. Could be modified for a drawer-under-platform for not much more...
