First and foremost, I own a 2018 Ram 1500 Sport (crew cab) night edition and she is a beauty. With that being said, I've been doing quite a bit of research on these two exhausts mentioned in the post title. I'm torn because they both appear to be quality products and I've listened to many video clips online for both exhausts. They are close in cost.

The Borla S-Type (Part #140307BC) appeals to me because it seems that it is relatively quiet when the truck is just idling in park but then roars when moving.
The MBRP Pro Series appears at least in videos to be a little throatier/louder at idle compared to the Borla S-Type exhaust.
It's hard to tell from videos and I haven't heard either exhaust in person. Anyone have any input on either exhaust regarding tone, why I should choose one over the other, quality, etc.?

I'm also looking to replace the stock exhaust hanger/insulator with ones a little bit firmer so the exhaust isn't prone to wiggling.

The MBRP will definitely be a little louder as the Borla muffler is a larger case. Borla will have a little better quality but they are both good quality systems.

I know you have done your homework and seem to have it narrowed down but have you looked at Corsa and Carven yet? Those are 2 other popular options and both offer black tips to match the night edition look you have!

Let us know if we can help and if you would like a quote. we offer all of these and offer discounts to all the members here!

I actually did look into both of those exhausts as well. From what I found from a few online posters, it sounded like Carven was a culprit with drone and the Mopar exhaust was actually just the Corsa exhaust (though I couldn't find conclusive proof of that -- it was more of speculation by others).

How is the quality of the Carven exhaust system?

See now I have heard the Mopar was Corsa and I heard it was borla. when looking at the system i feel it is Borla. that being said it doesnt match any Borla system exactly. They are not relabeled kits. I believe they are tamed down versions of the actual aftermarket kits.

Carven uses 304 stainless, much better than 409. We have sold ALOT of Carven an have had no complaints. All the systems mentioned will drone EXCEPT Corsa.

personally i wouldnt even bother with catback cause it serves no advantage....Save some coin and get a muffler of choice....If you wanna do a full ex,go headers, replace the factory y pipe THEN go cat back..
But if you go headers then your gettin into tuner land which now also means intake to..

Thanks for the insight. I've found that the MBRP Pro catback exhaust costs the same as the Carven muffler/tip replacement from what I'm seeing for online pricing. I would have thought that pricing would have been further apart.

I've been looking at exhaust systems too. I really liked the MBRP and Borlas too. I may have narrowed my search down to Stainless Works though. They're based right out of your neck of the woods. Have you heard of them or checked them out yet?? Their setup sounds amazing in videos. Haven't heard it in person, so I can't attest to it. Anyone else have thoughts on that system?

Also, for some reason, the Borla videos make the exhaust sound like it has a "turbo whine" quality to it. IDK, lol, maybe just my computer speakers ...

You aren't really going to gain anything with a full catback. You'll just be swapping the exact same thing thats on there now. If you really want to go that route, then go all out and get the corsa $y$tem. If you just want it to sound more aggressive I would just do a muffler swap, and save yourself some money. It will achieve the same final results. Like Nick said, all of the others are going to have some drone. I personally have had the Carven progressive on my truck for about a year. STILL smile everytime my truck starts up. Sounds are so very subjective to each individual, and unfortunately listening to sound clips all day just doesnt compare to in person.

I have the Corsa cat/back system w/Black Stainless 5" outlets on my '15 Ram. This system is defiantly not Mopar. The full system weights less than half the OE Sport system that I removed, is WAY better quality (sales rep claimed each system was built to order, so it takes longer to get - mine took about 3 weeks). I have had mine on for over a year now and its the best mod I have done so far.

As far as sound goes, when at idle, standing at the front of the Ram, you really can't hear the difference. In cab, there is a slight increase in sound over the OE Sport system. Standing at the rear, the Corsa is noticeably deeper and a bit louder than OE but not all that much. I have no in-cab drone at any speed, actually the sound level at highway speeds isn't too much more than OE. The biggest difference is when running hard, when you are dumping fuel the Corsa sounds great, more Muscle Car than Truck, deep but with a slight rasp during shifts. MPG was also unaffected after install.

Only down side was the cost, but the quality materials and better sound was/is worth the cost for me. Plus, if I need to I can always swap my OE Sport exhaust back on which I suspect I will never need to do.

Do you have a video of the Corsa on your truck? I'm now looking into Corsa as well. So many options out there. Hard to pick.

Unfortunately, no. Not sure a video/sound clip will do it any justice.

If you go to youtube and do a search for "Corsa Exhaust Ram 1500" several come up, including one from Corsa.
