I have a 2005 1500 leveled on 35s and I would like to know the best way to add some horsepower without spending 10 grand. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Do you have any performance mods yet? Like CIA, tuner, headers or cam?

Cold Air Intake is in the mail, a tuner is next, and then probably looking at exhaust. I’m not afraid of tearing the engine down. How do new intake manifolds effect hp?

Tuner, exhaust. 456s wouldn’t be bad either

Don't bother with the intake manifold swap, while the trucks are the ugliest of the bunch they are the best performers flr the trucks

I agree, 4.56s are gonna make the most noticeable difference, but they're also going to cost the most, could be as much as $2000 for 4wd. Those 35s need the gear advantage of the 4.56s, especially if you've got 3.55s now.

I have 410s right now and just had a new rearend put in. I think the gears are solid.

Yeah they are. Real fun with little 30" tires. Ok then, I'd check out some pacesetter or hedman headers with a their catless ypipe then Greene tune and maybe even one of his cams.

Idk I think they look ok haha 24a3690290d8cbb9fe5fee5b3769be3e.jpg

But seriously, other intake manifolds take quite a bit of work and $$ to make them fit. For a truck you gotta get adapters to fit the 6.1 intake and such. There is a OCP dual plane manifold some guys use, it’s about $700 though.

Get some "Catch Can" stickers, those are good for at least 20rwhp!

From what I've learned, full exhaust (including, and especially long tube headers) and a tune will be the most cost effective. Throwing a sonnax line booster on there will firm up your shifts some for only $60 as opposed to a 100's of dollars tuner.

After that, gears, cam, custom tune, everything else for full bolt on, and get a vararam air grabber intake. The faster your truck moves, the harder air is forced in, the more power you make.

LTs will require a tune to get the most of them, I was just quoted 2700 for ARH catted LTs and a Diablo Trin T2.

Youll start throwing O2 codes w/o the tune and headers.

He’s got an 05. Pacesetter headers and y pipe $550, adds few hundred if you want ceramic coating. Find a used Trinity for $350. Tune the downstream sensors out and you won’t have anymore codes. And if you don’t want the tune just add the spark plug non fouler trick and you won’t have codes. It’s pretty simple actually

I've had a Sonnax pressure booster on my truck for years. Works great IMO. Zero problems with it or the trans and I'm almost at 200K.

I agree, I’ve had it for a year. It’s not a game changer but it’s definitely nice, gives the trans a good feel. I’m just trying to see if the computer adapts over time though

My line booster works good, too. It doesn't feel like a hypercar, but 1-2 wot (and even less than wot) is much improved. All the other shifts seem better, too.

Feels like it should've come this way stock.
