Winter blend gas

Since he is from Wisconsin that switch over should have been a couple months ago. Might be something else going on there. Although there has been a lot of postings, just on this website alone, about peoples fuel mileage bouncing around from tank to tank. Makes me wonder if they are not being as precise when they are blending.

Dang it... I obviously didn't read his post close enough. I had it in my head that his mpg just dropped recently. So yeah 99% sure it would be the winter blend.

Appreciate all the advice. I think the hypothesis of the winter blend may be the issue. Ive got it hovering around 11.5 right now being more conscious of throttle. But that Spintech 9000 sounds so good!

Winter Blend?

So does E0 have a winter blend as well? If not do you have to add Heat to your fuel?

MY 2 cents! I am having a similar issue over the past month. I am in Maine and yes we get Winter blend gas as well, Also ethanol blend gas! :O I lost about 2 mpg . Now about 16/17 mpg when till last moth on winter blend was around 18/19 city! Maybe they are adding more ethanol this month ?

Ethanol is bad.. and I love how they all say “ max 10% Ethenol” I have a station near me that sells non ethenol fuel for marine/off hwy use- but the nosel is to big to fit in my filler hole.. I tried lol.

I have a local truck stop that has 100% gasoline, it’s more than 93 octane per gallon but I tried it and my mpg dropped pretty bad that tank. I haven’t gotten it again.

It's not just winter blend fuel, it's also the fact that autos take in the colder denser air and the pcm compensates by adding more fuel to maintain air fuel ratio. Also people tend to idle more in winter to warm up their cars, or leave them running more often. Take all that into consideration

Did you spit on it first?

I find that it helps sometimes.
